The 29 1/4" fret scale combined with heavier string gauges give the FolkRoots Baritone an incredibly rich sound. Tuned "A" "E" "A", a fifth lower than standard dulcimer tuning, this tuning gives the dulcimer a lower sound register perfect for solo, ensemble, and accompaniment playing. The baritone models feature "guitar-style" pegheads with sealed gear tuning pegs, 1 1/2" wide fingerboards with exotic wood overlays, Corian nuts and bridges cut for traditional and equidistant string spacing, two-piece book-matched backs with center inlay, and decorative heelcap. Includes Wenge (dark brown) Fingerboard Overlay and a Traditional Heart Soundhole.
