This little friend is perfect for all ages. He's an expressive hand puppet with a lot of character, and he makes a good stuffed animal, too. Six of his eight tentacles accept fingers (making him comfortable for both right- and left-handers) and he's one-size-fits-all: little hands and adult hands alike can work his magic. Use him palm-side up, and he plays a keen game of octopus peek-a-boo.

Never have we encountered a toy of such durability. Our octopus has traveled the world, been in most of the states of the Union, and accompanied us on climbs of some of the highest mountains on the East coast. Not to mention his many trips through the washing machine (in a mesh delicates bag; line dry). After five years and all those miles, he's not as good as new, but he's got a lot of life and love left in him. No doubt can can take a rough handling from any age.

My toddler adores this octopus and has been requesting us to tickle-attack her with it for months. It looks really neat since each of your five fingers moves one of the octopus's legs. Well-made. Says surface wash but I have laundered it in the washing machine in cold water and air-dried; no problem. I also like that the Folkmanis puppets come with a tag giving basic facts about the animal.

I am an experienced reading specialist. "Octopus" is one of the key words often used to help children remember the short-o sound. First-graders and other beginning readers can make especially good use of this friendly octopus. Active fun and learning make a great combination!

I am the author of the '99 review of this toy -- more than 12 years ago. Since that time, we've had 2 kids (now ages 2 and 3). They each enjoy the octopus tremendously. Octopus on head, octopus on face, octopus trying to tickle you with all those legs, octopus being thrown down the spiral staircase.... he's still got a lot of tricks up those 8 sleeves.

Despite all the rough toddler play, the octopus (now in his 17th year) is still going strong. He's had minimal repairs and still takes occasional trips through the washing machine to keep him nice and tidy.

When he's not playing with the kids, he still enjoys world travel (a week in Provence this summer while the kids stayed with grandparents was just what the octopus needed to rejuvenate!), skiing (strapped to outside of the backpack so his little legs can flop around free during the exciting descents), and even worked his way into a friend's wedding photos. Stern frowns from the uppity photographer didn't disuade the couple, who demanded the octopus be included in the group shot (on top of a kid's head, of course).

I bought this as a present for a friend who is an octopus lover. It is extremely cute and huggable. It is well made and a good size for being used as a puppet.

I purchased this puppet for our skits we will be doing in VBS. I like how you can use all your fingers to move the tentacles individually.

The buy was easy. The product arrived soon and in excellent conditions. The toy is in new, it's really fun, it was for a gift and the owner was really happy with the sorprise. Its a non comon toy. It's original, usefull and creative. We really enjoy it. It's a puppet, and the person doesn't relice until they start to play with it. So, it's like a extra sorprise for the kid.

We didn't have problems with the pay or the shipping. Everything was great. The price was good, I bough it in offert.

I love this little octopus. I've been collecting folkmanis puppets for a long time and this little guy was another addition to the family.I use him in puppet shows and he is very durable and cute.I also like his bright turquoise/green coloring.I use him to teach people about octopus too.I have a lot of puppets so I do shows all the time and he is perfect.

My grandaughter wasa really in the "octopus" This was my son's recommendation to get her an octopus thing of some sort. It was a disaster. My grandaughter was disinterested immediately and hasn't as much looke at it since. It was a waste of money... Stan
