FACTS OF INTEREST

• The three species of jackrabbit are members of the hare family. They are common in the western United States.
• The jackrabbit gets its name from its long ears and legs, which look like those of a jackass, or donkey. Its ears turn back and forth to catch sounds.
• A jackrabbit can run at speeds as fast as 45mph when escaping from a coyote. It can also bound high into the air to spot predators.
• When an antelope jackrabbit is fleeing an enemy, it darts back and forth flashing the white fur on its tail as a warning to other rabbits.

I bought this for my sister, who is the library/resources person at her school. She uses this with various stories and the kids love it. It is easy to use, and you can move the mouth while the arms move. It is quite big too, and has a very realistic pose. The fur is beautiful.
