We love the look and construction of this dragon puppet, but it was not clear from the picture that this is a FINGER puppet. The puppet is large and hard to operate with your finger. My husband commented, "Nothing ruins the puppet illusion like seeing the rest of your hand."

I would not call this a finger puppet. The finger puppets in the Folkmanis line are small and are moved with one finger. Actually, moving all the movable parts at once requires two hands. It is a bit awkward to manage the mouth and fore legs together, but not more than the average animal puppet of this size. And it is gorgeous, with a good imitation of scales on the body, gold wings and belly, and a glittery red tongue and mouth. It is reasonably sturdy, but not for the very young or very careless child. As to the "educational value", I refuse to consider that. Toys are for fun; as a child nothing could make a toy less interesting to me than being told it was educational. It still makes me wonder if a pop quiz will follow an hour's play.
