We have lots of Folkmanis puppets. My favorite is the Pirate. He has a glove on the back so he's easy to manipulate. Princess, Prince, Queen and King are different however. You put your thumb in one sleeve, your pinky in the other sleeve and your index or middle finger in the head in order to make the puppet move. It is not very easy. Princess head is very wobbly and it's almost impossible for my 7 year old to do it because her hand is so small that the span between thumb and pinky doesn't reach the sleeves/hands of the puppet. I'm not sure why all the 5 star reviews. We have the Princess with the yarn hair (old model). New model has "natural" hair. I am not sure if they improved her and made her more like the Pirate (who has a glove on the back) or not. But I wouldn't buy them the way they are if I've seen them in the store. Buying online is sometimes hard.
EDITED: I recently obtained a newer version of the Princess (the one with long hair, not yarn hair) and I can say that I'm very happy with it. My suggestion is to ask the seller which one they sell and skip the yarn hair doll. The new Princess has been improved. Instead of having to put thumb and pinky in the dress sleeves, and middle finger in the hole in the head - the new Princess has the "hand pocket" on her back for your whole hand and it stays on the hand nicely. Just like the Pirate does. I'm pleased.
Old Princess - 2 stars for difficulty playing with.
New Princess - 5 stars for improved design and pretty hair.

My daughter loves this puppet! Of the ones we gave her on her birthday, this is her favorite. It has nice hair, a beautiful dress, and it's small so that a child's hand can fit inside nicely and make the puppet move.

I added this to my 3 1/2 year boys' puppet collection to give them a female character among the kings, knight, dragons, lions, etc. It is very pretty and all of their friends seem to enjoy it. Well made. Good for pretend play.

I like this puppet. The princesss is pretty, and I sometimes play "Punch and Judy" with the Prince and Princess puppets!

A well made princess puppet, nice details and she's pretty but not too frou frou. I can see her defending herself against the T-Rex puppet I bought at the same time:)

She is so pretty, looks like a princess should. perfect for an imagnative child. My grandaughter will have a wonderful time playing with this puppet.

I bought this puppet for $[...] at a museum while traveling with my 5-year old and it was well worth even that price. She played with it for days in a hotel room without many props. It inspired her to use her imagination and she especially loved the long hair. Now that we're home, my 11-year old won't put it down and must have one of her own! Overall, a great purchase.

My family loves Folkmanis puppets and this one is no exception. This princess is lovely, her costume quite luxurious. The fun is in how you play with puppets of course, so it's just a tool. For the price, this is a high-quality toy.
