Love it!,
This review is from: Folkmanis Puppet Elephant (Toy)
As a toy store employee, I work with quite a few puppets, and the Folkmanis Elephant is definitely one of my favorites. The puppet is very well made, with excellent details and craftsmanship, from its nails to the way the fur is cut to simulate wrinkles to the soft foam which makes its ears stand out to the rings which make its trunk go up and down. This puppet has been a favorite of adults and children alike--I'm only sad that it sold already.

I actually purchased this for my husband. He loves it! We both enjoy working with preschoolers, using many Folkmanis puppets because they're the best. This one is no different. It's super-plush, and has two loops inside, enabling the user to pull them to make the trunk move up or down. It's just great. [...]

I purchased the elephant as a "business partner" and traveling companion for my travel business -- TheTravelingElephant.com. I named her "Trypp, The Traveling Elephant." She has a whole history on the website. She travels with me and "stars" in my travel photos which are published on my blog. I like her because, unlike a stuffed animal, she'll flatten out and not take as much room in the suitcase, yet she has enough backbone to stand up on her own. She's not just static like a stuffed animal, but has "personality." Her trunk and mouth can be manipulated like a puppet, so I can make her "smile." I removed an elephant sound maker out of a elephant dog toy and put it into he trunk so she can make trumpeting sounds like an elephant. Her trunk is roomy enough to hold my wallet and camera if I don't want to bring a purse or fanny pack. I can hang her on a belt or belt loop using a carabiner and an elasticized bracelet I put around her neck. Since I purchased her in April, she's been yachting and zip-lining with me in Costa Rica (I have really cute pictures of her with a little girl in San Jose and one of the crew members from our yacht). She's also been on a road trip from Rhode Island to Indianapolis, a community celebration in Northern Colorado, hiking a 14-er in Colorado, and speedboat racing in the Chain-of-Lakes in Illinois. Next week, she's going to Yellowstone National Park, back to Chicago in September and Chattanoogo and Universal Studios Florida in October. She's a lot of fun and a real ice-breaker to meeting people when I travel. So far, she's holding up really well.
