Editorial Review
As delicate and ephemeral as a wisp of cloud, this little butterfly is a chiffon-winged flight of fancy. The 8-inch-long tiny finger puppet gains a little substance when your finger fills a stretchy knit tube of midnight black that forms its torso. Eyes are tiny French knots, barely visible. The two antennae are formed by wisps of string attached at the forehead. And those wings! Dainty snippets of lilac chiffon gracefully shaped and tinted with swirls of amethyst, edged in black. This could be a rare specimen from the wilds of Myanmar or a prize from the tropical jungles of South America. Because it's small, light, and uncomplicated--and because butterflies aren't generally talkative critters--it's a perfect choice for a smaller child who hasn't had much experience with puppetry or performance. And this butterfly makes a good conversation-starter with those who may be on the shy side. You'll want to take good care of the wings--or be prepared to iron them--because they'll wrinkle if little Butterfly gets tossed carelessly into the toy box.
