We bought our son several of the Folkmanis finger puppets, and each one is very detailed in their own unique way. I have no idea what the quills are made of, but they look just like the real thing without being ouchy.

My son can easily tell the difference between the porcupine and the Folkmanis Mini Hedgehog Finger Puppet. he can also match this porcupine up to the pictures in his animal encyclopedia, as well as some of his other books.

These are good-quality finger puppets that won't fall apart from your child's enthusiastic playing.

I purchased this cute little guy as a gag gift for my girlfriend in honor of a recent "Youtube" video phenomenon of a grumpy porcupine named "Teddy" refusing to share his corn on the cob and being most vocal about it. I did not purchase the item with much thought to the actual quality of the toy being as I was not expecting it to have to last. My sweet girlfriend, however has fallen in love with the puppet, reenacting "Teddy's" little tantrum several times a week with a piece of prop corn. This brings us both a good deal of amusement. this being the case, I was so happy to find that the construction of this item is strong and the materials seem to be of high quality as is the design, just as well, as she plans to keep it for a very long time.I think that for just the few dollars that "Teddy II" cost, it may be one of the best values for money I could have. I also think the joy that a well chosen puppet could bring to a child is priceless as is the benefit of safe imaginative play. Assuming the high quality of this item stretches across the entire product line, I would recommend that anyone chooses the Folkmanis company when they are searching for a great toy and an excellent value..

Cute toy, easy to use as a finger puppet, very good quality. The hand in the photo is a child's hand, as this porcupine is probably only 4 inches long. My daughter loves this toy, and I'm glad I got it for her.

This little guy is so ugly, he's adorable! Finger puppets are always a kick, and the Folkmanis ones are extraordinary! This one has really cool fur (supposed to be spines, but soft). I named mine Hanky Panky Porcupine. :D
