The product itself was actually larger than I had thought... we purchased two of these finger puppets for our daughters (aged 2 and 4) the eldest has hands appropriate to the size... the little one will have to grow into it a bit. To be honest I hadn't considered the suggested age.

Either way it can always be put away for later (as I do with any toy I think is worth the money or a good deal... I buy it and put it in a closet, when it comes time for a birthday party or a gift giving occassion we have something on hand. This has also saved us a tonne of money at Christmas time... and we've only had minimal exposure to the crowds shopping around the holiday.)

I wouldn't call it "durable" but if your children are relatively good to their toys then you have no worries... also for this price you can't really expect it to be a "last forever" kind of toy!

I bought the Monarch Butterfly finger puppet for my great-granddaughter to go along with a book on Monarchs, a story book about butterflies in general, Butterfly coloring book, two books on butterflies, and a little folder with temporary henna butterfly tattoos. She's 4 years old and I know she'll have a great deal of fun with them along with learning how interesting and lovely the great variety of butterflies are.

Fingerpuppets are great with young babies 2 months and up. I use them in my infant classes where parents practice visual tracking with their babies and sing songs using their butterflies. Easy to hand wash and dries quickly.

This puppet is so much fun! Very well made, vibrant colors, and easy to use for both toddlers and adults. My daughter has enjoyed it and I would highly reccomend. It would make a GREAT gift for a child.

I got this as one of my daughter's 2nd birthday presents and she loves it. Now, 6 months later, she still picks it up to play with it sometimes and likes to put it on and make it fly. I love that its a simple, nature-inspired toy (thank goodess for a respite from all the plastic, light-up, loud toys!) It is well made and very nice-looking.

we got one of these when my little one was 1. It was great to watch her eyes as we made the butterfly fly as we moved our arm up and down. The little wings flap and now as a two year old, she is putting it on herself and moving her arm up and down to make it fly on her own. The cutest part is that whenever she sees a butterfly in a book or hears the word, she puts her finger out and moves her arm up and down, even when the puppet is no where to be found. So cute and fun. Great puppet.

Grand daughter loved this. Fit well on her hand and she is 6 years old. By moving her hand up and down she could make the butterfly's wings flap.

It was cute, but for little fingers around 2-3 y.o. it is hard to get it to stay on well. They still enjoy it.

This is a beautiful large butterfly puppet that fit perfectly - stays in place well. Great to use in read-along butterfly stories. My special needs daughter, who is non-verbal loves this butterfly! It lights up her face each time.
