excellent follow the dot book for older children,

This review is from: Follow the Dots Coloring Book (Dover Children's Activity Books) (Paperback)
It is difficult to find a follow the dot book that is challenging for a child over the age of 7. My daughter was thrilled with this follow the dot book because each puzzle has an average of 100 dots to follow and it is impossible to tell what the picture is until the puzzle is completed. After the follow the dot activity is completed each picture may be colored. There is an interesting story that the child may read as they complete the book. This book contains many hours of entertainment for the child for a very small price. Compared to other follow the dot books we have purchased, this book was by far the most interesting and time consuming. I wish there were more advanced follow the dot books like this on the market!

I got my first dover coloring book about 30 years ago and have been hooked. I now have a collection of about 20. They are kind of hard to find in retail and when you do the selection is poor.I find coloring to be very relaxing when you are stressed. I also cannot just watch tv I like to be doing crochet or cross stitching, coloring. These books are very well done as far as the drawings are concerned. They can be very intricate. Some are made more for children but many would be hard for a child under say 10yrs old to do and feel good about. They are best done with colored pencils as you can get really good at shading and make them really pretty. I highly recommend this and many others. I do own this specific book.

Our Kindergardener really likes this follow-the-dot book. It was just challenging enough for her but not too difficult. I think it really helps her review counting. We have given a copy of this to her teacher for use in the classroom.
