About the Author

Kristin Geller has taught kindergarten for nine years and first grade for one year in Hawthorne, New York. She completed an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education. Kristin has always had a strong interest in art and drawing, which is evident in her vibrant classroom and creative teaching. This is her first book for Scholastic Teaching Resources.

This wonderfully constructed book is a must have for all primary educators. It transformed my reluctant artists into confident and capable risk taking artists! My 1st Grade students beg for more.

We gave this to our 5 year old as a gift. She was drawing all the pictures in no time. It takes them throug each picture step by step. It is very easy to understand. I would recommend it to those who are encouraging drawing.

This book is designed to be a teacher's aid. Each page shows step by step directions to draw simple pictures, with a place on the page to draw it. The facing page has information that could be used for a lesson plan. I am not a teacher, so the set-up of the book is not ideal, but the directions are easy to follow.
