Let’s Visit Chinese Kindergarten engages viewers with everyday scenes and conversation with young children. Jade introduces words in their cultural context, followed by reinforcing games and songs. In Follow Jade! Let’s Visit Chinese Kindergarten, we visit a real school in Beijing. Children sing and clap along to simple rhyming songs, and viewers can’t help but join in. Jade guides the way, repeating and blending the newly learned Chinese words into familiar songs like the "Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" (going from tou-head to jiao-toe) and the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" (zhi zhu). Viewers learn greetings, numbers, counting, colors, juices and drinks, along with the songs. Before you know it, it is time to say zai jian (bye bye)!

I¡¯m considering Chinese lessons for my 5 & 6 year old sons, and picked up the Follow Jade videos to try and get a feel for what we¡¯d be in for. In the first half of the summer, my sons (and I) have managed to learn the numbers, fruits, and other basic words. But perhaps most importantly, I feel that the videos have helped to train my ears in preparations for Chinese lessons in the fall.

Jade¡¯s videos are not a Chinese emersion program. If that¡¯s what you¡¯re looking for, you should just take your kids to China for the summer. What the videos do, and do very well, is teach kids some basic Chinese while familiarizing them with the correct sounds, all while presenting China in a positive, colorful light

My 4-year-old and I are both learning Chinese (Mandarin) from Jade's video, so I would say that it helps both kids and adults alike! Jade uses fun techniques to make learning enjoyable...my daughter loves watching this show and I love the fact that she's learning at the same time! Recommended!

The presentation of the content was very clearly presented and entertaining (from my kid's perspective). As a co-author of a language book myself I could appreciate how this was assembled.
