This is a nice reprint of the original book about the Second Marine Division in WWII. Somewhat dated today as it was first published about 1948. My stepfather has a first edition copy as he was in that Unit and all of the Island Invasions including the nightmare of Tarawa.

Bought as replacement for my grandfather's personal copy, which was destroyed in a fire. The original was given to members of Second Division Marines sometime after the war. Good, basic coverage. Some nasty photos, but it's a war book not a photography book. Covers the entire Pacific campaign as seen through the eyes of Second Division leader. Not really in-depth. But a good start for researching any of those battles.

I am very pleased with the copy of "Follow Me" I received via amazon.com. I chose the 1948 publishing of this book because that was the same date of the book my father received as a member of the 2nd Marine Division in WWII. The book was advertised as being in very good condition. It arrived very promptly and seems to be in excellent condition. The price of less than $25 was the icing on this cake.
