5.0 out of 5 stars incredibly good music here October 5, 2007
Format:Audio CD
This CD is very, very, very good. There are all sorts of influences...maybe a little folk, rock, blues, and whatever else. Definitely for fans of the Espers, Neko Case, PJ Harvey, etc.

Very solid music, with an emphasis on absolutely amazing drumming by Jim White (from Dirty Three and Cat Power's Dirty Delta Blues Band). It's simply amazing guitar work coupled with mindblowing drums, I am not sure what else to say. Ten songs, roughly over thirty minutes.

Folks...listen to the songs on the band's myspace site and if you dig them: buy the CD. It really grows on you. Solid music here, I hope they do another album like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars nothing like it January 9, 2008
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Nothing else sounds like this one. The lyrics are wondrous. The drumming is all over the place, where you least expect it. This music fills the air in ways I've never heard before.

5.0 out of 5 stars incredible album February 15, 2014
Format:Audio CD
I really enjoy Nina's music but this album is simply incredible. The album hooked me on first play and has retained the freshness on many, many listens. Fresh is a great way to describe this album. The music is extremely captivating. Nina's voice over Jim White's drums with minimal additional instrumentation seems like it could have been a recipe for disaster instead of a beautiful collaboration. The only negative comment would be that White and Nina have not collaborated to create more masterpieces like this. If you are a fan of Nina's get this, you will wear it out as I have. If you are not a fan, give it a listen. An under-rated masterpiece.
