About the Author

JANICE COOK KNIGHT, former head chef of the Follow Your Heart restaurant, is a writer and cooking teacher. She has worked for Bon Appétit magazine and teaches through Santa Barbara City College's Adult Education program. She writes for the Santa Barbara Independent and is also the author of Follow Your Heart's Vegetarian Soup Cookbook.

Love love love Follow Your Heart, and the cook book features some of the best recipes from the restaurant along with some new ones. All of which will become staples for vegetarians and vegan alike. We initially bought this book because we were eating at FYH weekly meeting up with friends for weekend brunch and figured we'd like to make some of the dishes at home, like the scrambled tofu (a favorite in our house now), and the to die for broccoli soup!

Even if you haven't been to their restaurant though this book is a great buy! My only 'beef' is no photo's! But I guess they make up for that with more recipes! Great book, and really glad we bought it, we still use it often!

My hubby used to work for "Follow Your Heart" and I gave this to him as a gift. He has always made the best tasting sandwiches, I attribute it to his having worked for Janice at "Follow Your Heart".

You won't be disappointed you will be inspired.

We also have the "Follow Your Heart Soup" cookbook which is also excellent.

I would like to know what year Ms. Knight got these recipes because it's hard to find what's actually cooked, and on the menu at the restaurant in the cookbook!!! I lived in the San Fernando Valley for almost 30 years, and was hoping that this cookbook had many of the staple items at the restaurant. It came in the mail today and boy was I wrong!!! Where's the Zorro burrito? Where's the enchilada Corozon? Where's their wonderful spinach lasagne? By the way, the copy I received from Amazon had stains on it and the pages were bent. Looks like someone returned it and it was resold...
