Product Description

Even if nobody believes her, Faith Emerson knows she’s psychic. After all, she totally saw it coming when Peter, her boyfriend of two years, dumped her for her best friend.

Heartbroken, Faith needs a fresh start. So when her good friend Carolyn suggests she move from Duluth to Minneapolis, Faith takes the plunge and embarks on a new adventure. However, Faith soon learns things don’t always go as planned when she’s forced to deal with a coffee shop customer from hell, a bruised tailbone, a phone-sex operator roommate, a freeloading little sister, her parents’ taxidermy convention, and a new love interest who may be stalking her. Yet every time Faith tries to rely on her perceptive abilities, friends or family accuse her of being self-involved.

Faith believes in love, but knows she must solve the stalker mystery before she can trust any of the new men in her life. In the process she discovers that she has more to learn about following her heart and following her instincts than she ever imagined.

Following My Toes is a tale of love and forgiveness, told with humor and a fresh, innovative voice!

Following My Toes was chosen as "best chick lit" in the 2008 National Indie Excellence Book Award contest.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm shocked, May 30, 2006

that this is the author's first novel! While this is definitely a fun read, she also has a way with language that made me think she had a number of books under her belt.

I can imagine this being a favorite with the chick lit crowd, though I liked it more as a mystery novel. So I guess I'd say that unless your reading is confined to encyclopedias and repair manuals, you'll really like this. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging from the start, October 7, 2006

Even though I don't generally read this genre, Osterkamp's book kept me turning the pages. From the opening where we learn Faith is not only psychic, but has been kidnapped, this story forced me to read on.

The humor Faith uses to look at her life makes this story endearing and believable. I was with her from the time her best friend fessed up to cheating with Faith's boyfriend all the way through her "call girl" room mate and mechanic crush. Funny and engaging. I'll definitely buy the author's next book.

For a funny, enjoyable romp with engaging characters, "Following my Toes" was a good read. I'm hoping for a sequel.

More About the Author

Lots of things influence my writing. My misadventures in my twenties were the starting point for Following My Toes, although I spiced things up A LOT in order to make it an interesting story. Getting married, having kids, teaching high school, and figuring out the sort of adult I wanted to be influenced Starring in the Movie of My Life. Whatever I write, I try not to shy away from characters making tough choices. I believe in finding truth in fiction!

Why is it that kindness is so apt to make us cry? Perhaps for the same reason love often does: strong emotions often become inter-mixed, like the roots of weeds and flowers, impossible to separate, feeding off each other. "e;
