I seriously love this book and the CD is worth the price of the book alone!
You get everything you need to learn the mantras, the meaning
of each mantra, and great stories that really inspired me. I have so many kirtan CDs and this one
is now my favorite. Kailash is very REAL. You will not be disappointed. Ram Ram

Kailash's book with CD, Following Sound into Silence was one of the first chanting CDs and resources that I purchased. Since that time, listening to his CD daily transformed my yoga practice, meditation practice and daily life. His music is original, inspiring, offering insights and peace. The chants seem to continue vibrating through you long after the CD has finished playing. His voice is clear and pure - showing his dedication to his art.

Kailash's discourse in the book is full of knowledge, research and comes from a place of knowing. It is a pleasure to read and re-read, and I often use examples from his book in teaching yoga classes and workshops. Whenever students or friends ask me where my inspiration comes from for chanting, Kailash is one of my chosen references.

I recently had the privilege to meet him and his family at a Kirtan in Toronto and was humbled by his teachings between each chant. His way of simplifying the Truth allows one to understand the real source of life and feel comfortable and relaxed knowing that all is well.

I highly recommend this product as an addition to your library. You'll want to listen to the CD over and over again!

Kailash's beautifully written book helped me to devote myself more fully to God in the form of sound (and silence).

It is beautifully written and very informative at the same time. He offers his experience on the path, with stories of him meeting his guru, Bhagavan Das, and an extremely educating introduction to chanting; with his understanding of some very powerful mantras. Kailash's book is an extremely helpful introduction.

One of the best things about this is the CD that it comes with. The music is absolutely beautiful. I've listened to a good bit of kirtans and not many have as much instrumental pieces in them, but Kailash's kirtans has wonderful instrumentation. I was lucky enough to chant and sing with him, unknowingly at the time, at a kirtan his guru, Bhagavan Das, was leading.

Following Sound into Silence is superb! It opens up the gateway of the heart and it removes the limitations of the mind, allowing sincere practitioners to move deeper into their practice of kirtan. The captivating and enchanting melodies, along with Kailash's intensity of pure devotion, will lift any eager spirit out of her illusionary ego entrapment. Thank you Kailash for sharing this most inspirational work with me and with the world. I will share it with all those who I feel can benefit from it.

Following Sound Into Silence: Chanting Your Way Beyond Ego into Bliss The book and album combined are great. The book gives lots of insights and also includes the words of the chants which makes them easy to follow. Seeing the written words enables you to get better pronunciation and intonation. The matras are set to tunes that stay in your mind and you find yourself reciting them automatically throughout the day and night. Altogether a great aid towards increasing self-realisation.

This book is a wonderful read from start to finish. As a Hindu, chanting has always been a part of my life -- so I was delighted to find information in this book that was enlightening even to me and that has made my own chanting practice more fulfilling. I enjoyed the practical reflection exercises that Kailash provides and use some of the book's illustrations as meditation tools. The bonus CD is simply stunning -- I've been moved to tears by the beauty of some tracks and taken to bliss by others. This is a book that touches the soul.

Kailash has written a beautiful book on a subject dear to my heart-daily devotional chanting.I wish he would have mentioned the ektara [ really a dotara ]which he plays on his cd-they are easy to play and can be purchased online cheaply-I have been chanting on my dotara since '79 and feel that serious chanters should be aware of this simple instrument that will deepen their chanting experience. This is my first book/cd that i have found that made it easy and real to use devotional chanting. as chanting is the foundation of my practice. This has been extremely helpful. I really feel the devotion flowing from Kailash voice on this amazing CD. You can really feel the love he has for his guru Baba Bhagavan Das. this Book/cd has really reminded me that simplicity is the key. Jai Maa!

For a Western audience Kailash's "Following Sound into Silence..." is the most practical guide I have found for starting a chanting practice. Kailash dissolves the obscurity that makes devotional chanting daunting and, well...weird... for new folks, yet he supplies us with enough philosophical depth to keep the mystery of it all intact and ready to explore. The book is gorgeous and easy to read. The companion CD is a wonderful listen on its own but pairs beautifully with the book. The one problem with this "Following Sound into Silence..." is that I can't seem to finish it because every time I open it, I am immediately inspired to go to my altar and chant.

Amazing read!

Being new to chanting, I found the book most helpful. I appreciate the way Kailash presents the methods and reason for chanting. It was an easy, fun read. He makes chanting "non-intimating" and "very doable" for the shy beginner. There are beautiful illustrations on the pages which Kailash did himself. The CD is most enjoyable! His voice is "breathtaking"! The illustrations and CD compliment the book. This is a "must have" book to complete your library. I recognize Kailash's talent and I look forward to his next book and CD.
