Best of Hip Hop Album in a Long Time, September 22, 2001

After listening to this cd I was totally amazed. Little T brings true hip hop back with the cd. The music on the whole cd is perfect. There are a couple of songs that are not very good but the other songs make up for it. Best songs on this cd are Fome is Dape, Immune, J, Guidance Counselor, and Deadman. I read other people comparing him with Eminem(which I hate) and they are totally different artists with totally different ideas. Eminem is just about yelling and screaming and killing his wife while Little T is about funny songs, clever lyrics, and what rap music should really be about. If you like Bloodhound Gang you will love this cd. GET IT NOW.

Stayin up all night for five days straight..., September 14, 2001

A fun and powerful debut from this DIY duo. A fresh sound highly influenced by old-school hip-hop, this record is an engaging and well-conceived blend of P.E., Run DMC and De La Soul, but with a uniquely 90's edge. Producer One Track Mike clearly knows his way around a drum machine (not to mention nylon-stringed guitar, fretless bass, and just about every other live instrument you hear) while Little T's alternately thought-provoking ("Sycamore Trees") and hilarious ("Immune") lyrics are always unpredictable and literate. And in addition to his fly MC skillz, T has the knack for creating grotesquely memorable choruses ("If I Had Wings", "Guidance Counselor") as well as knowing when to appropriate a classic obscurity, as with his use of Donovan's "Season of the Witch" in "Sammy." As if that wasn't enough, you also receive a great cameo from Slick Rick (anyone remember "La-Di Da-Di"?) as well as a guest turn from live bandmate Shank Bone Mystic, on a soul number so authentic that you'll swear it's a cover. Don't forget to check out the prophetic hidden track (recorded and released indie-style in '99), beginning at the six-minute mark of track 16. Fome is here.
