5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY PUT, THIS SHOW *IS* ROCK 'N ROLL
I wasn't even a huge Foo Fighters fan before I bought this blu-ray disc - I was partially getting it for the Jimmy Page/John Paul Jones experience. Well that all changed in a matter of two seamless hours of spine tingling Rock 'N Roll! Folks, this is one of the best shows you'll *EVER* see.

After watching the disc for about the 10th time I'd have to say...

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY PUT, THIS SHOW *IS* ROCK 'N ROLL, December 30, 2008
This review is from: Foo Fighters - Live At Wembley Stadium [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I wasn't even a huge Foo Fighters fan before I bought this blu-ray disc - I was partially getting it for the Jimmy Page/John Paul Jones experience. Well that all changed in a matter of two seamless hours of spine tingling Rock 'N Roll! Folks, this is one of the best shows you'll *EVER* see.

After watching the disc for about the 10th time I'd have to say Dave's ferocity, accompanied by the insane jam session and drum solo during "Stacked Actors", makes this one of the best performances I've seen on video in the past 20 years. By the time Page and Jones come out it's like icing on top of icing on the cake - no wonder Dave breaks down like a little girl for a second. And when Dave switches with Taylor to pound on the pig skins for "Rock 'N Roll" and you see the look in his eyes, I do believe he's actually dead and in heaven. As for Taylor Hawkins nailing Robert Plant's vox (less the impossible highs)... WOW, who knew? I didn't. These guys are AMAZING. And to see every detail of them, their instruments, the crowd, and Wembley Stadium in fine detail is simply breathtaking.

The *only* flaw in the entire TWO HOUR performance (and I wasn't even going to mention this but I must because it's actually kinda funny) is Dave has no clue what half the lyrics are to Zep's "Ramble On". They should have titled the song "Mumble On" for the disc - it's all good though, the triangle solo makes up for it :)

As for anyone who complains about extras missing from the disc, all I have to say to that is, "86,000 FANS plus JOHN PAUL JONES and JIMMY PAGE for TWO ZEPPELIN SONGS" (THERE'S YOUR EXTRAS)!

SIMPLY PUT, THIS SHOW *IS* ROCK 'N ROLL

5.0 out of 5 stars Unreal!, November 19, 2008
This review is from: Foo Fighters - Live At Wembley Stadium [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I dare any Foo Fighter's fan to watch this concert video without getting a major case of goose bumps! If you've ever had the distinct pleasure of seeing Dave Grohl and company perform live, you will cherish every moment of this show. Wembley is a very grand, and fitting venue for one of the greatest live rock bands out there today. And after an hour and a half of non-stop, blood-pumping live jam, they bring out Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones for the encore...are you kidding me??! Gotta go...I'm still watching!

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best concert DVDs available, February 1, 2009

I saw this tour at Red Rocks, and thought it was solid. However, this DVD captures a truly great performance with some great surprises. The boys (and gal) aren't just slugging through the hits -- they're having the time of their lives. You always hear about those "amazing moments" and this DVD captures it perfectly. Looks and sounds amazing, too.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I personally wanted to hear some different songs on the setlist. If you dig this setlist, consider it a 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Rock Shows!, December 21, 2008

The show perfectly shot, i got chills every time they opened a new song. The finale is perfect. One downside is that there is a couple songs they don't have on the DVD, But they played at the show. One of them is, But Honestly (Arguably one of the best on the new cd) That aside, i don't have a better Music Blu Ray in my collection. The gripping point is the bands overwhelming look on their face when they look into the crowd. At a couple points, Dave actually cries. It's amazing. If you ever get the chance, see these guys live. Do it, I saw them Live @ Red Rocks (Front Row Center). Best night of my life. Buy this, Amazon has it cheaper here than anyone else. Easy decision. :)

I love the Foo Fighters and the set list is what you would expect. What's really great about this concert video is the camera work. It's not frenetic, hopping from shot to shot faster than your eyes can adjust. Shots are held long enough that you can really watch the musicians in action. You can also tell that the band was "up" for this performance. The songs with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones are memorable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Band / Great Show, December 23, 2008
This review is from: Foo Fighters - Live At Wembley Stadium [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I saw the Foo Fighters this year at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas. We were in the very front and the show was amazing. I bought the DVD hoping it would be half as good as going to the show. The songs played for the most part are the same as the concert I saw. The footage is amazing and the sound is fantastic. Watching the DVD is almost as good as seeing the band live, in one aspectic it is better as no one is spilling beer on you in the comfort of your own home.

Get this DVD you will not be disappointed.

This is a GREAT show. The performance content on this disc lives up to the standard that I've come to expect from all things Foo Fighters. My rating for it would've been a full 5 stars if there had been more background / special features / interviews with the band, about this show. The Foo's rock-umentary "Back And Forth", which I highly recommend, covered a good bit of background on the 2 performances at Wembley.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for the Foo fan. Wow., May 13, 2010

If you have never been to a Foo Fighters concert and like the band (you don't even have to love them), it should be on your list of things to do before you die. They have so much energy and presence on stage it sends chills up your spine with Dave Grohl being a high level performer with an amazing ability to scream and have it sound melodic.

The energy of their shows is in full form with this DVD at Wembley Stadium filmed in front of two groups of over 80,000 screaming fans. The energy of the crowd makes you want to jump up and down and scream and the performances of classic Foo hits are out of this world. I was awed by the quality of the video and the shots of the band, Dave and crowd and right on. Bonuses are the performance of Rock and Roll and Ramble On by Foo along with John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin.

Another bonus on the DVD is the ability to easily from the pop-up menu go to individual songs.

If you like Foo and have a home theater system, this is a MUST.

It really doesn't get any better than this for live show footage. Amazing quality, great camera work and editing, and obviously the music and performance is something Foo fans can't miss. And it features possibly the greatest encore of all time. There are technically no "extras" but I think the encore surpasses any backstage footage or other extra junk you would ever want. For any music lover or concert goer this is a MUST BUY!
