"Weird Al" Yankovic's THE FOOD ALBUM isn't so much a new album as just a compilation of earlier songs relating to food. It's hilarious, gross, outrageous - true Al.

The album opens with "Fat" (an outrageous spoof of Michael Jackson's "Bad), then goes on to "Lasagna" (spoof of "La Bamba") - which is pretty funny, as Al sings about the value of Italian food. There's also "The White Stuff" detailing the joy of cookie filling, "The Rye or the Kaiser (Theme from Rocky XIII)" telling what happened after the last one, and tons of other hilarious songs. Of course, there's also "Eat It" (another Jackson spoof - "Beat It"), which is very funny as well.

What can I say? "Weird Al" is a comedic genius and never fails to make me laugh. "The Food Album" is perfect for beginning Al fans, but die-hard fans will no doubt already have most of the songs.

Food is one of Al's favorite subjects to sing about, and there are some classics here. Eat It is one of the best. My Bologna was his first hit and it's still a great tune. Other good songs include Fat, The White Stuff, I Love Rocky Road, and The Rye or the Kaiser

This album is the best. Sure, spam, rocky road, addicted 2 spuds and the white stuff are ok. Fat and eat it are good. Bologna, Lasagna, taco, and rye or kaiser are DA BOMB. This is the ultimate weird al album and everyone should have it in their collection.

I love the song 'Spam'. Yes, 'Eat It', 'Fat',, and the rest are terrific, but Spam is my favorite. It is great. This hole CD is great. It is a must for all Weird Al fans.

Wierd Al's Food compilation features ten of his songs about food spanning from his 1983 self-titled debut to his 7th album, 1992's Off The Deep End. It's true that there is one big problem: it is missing one song, "Girls Just Want To Have Lunch" (a parody of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" from album Dare To Be Stupid). But other than that, the songs are well picked, and they are:

3. Addicted to Spuds (parody of Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love from album Polka Party!)-5

5. Spam (parody of "Stand" by REM from album UHF-Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Other Stuff)-3.5

6. Eat It (parody of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" from album In 3-D)-5

7. The White Stuff (Parody of New Kids on the Block's "The Right Stuff" from album Off The Deep End)-4.5

8. My Bologna (Parody of the Knack's "My Sharona" from album "Wierd Al" Yankovic)-4

9. Taco Grande (Parody of Gerardo's "Rico Suave" from album Off The Deep End)-5

10. Theme From Rocky XIII (Parody of Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" from album In 3-D)-5

Notably, all these are parodies. Also, if Weird Al made an updated version of the Food album, it would no doubt contain all of these tracks, as well as these additional tracks (in addition to "Girls Just Want To Have Lunch"):

1. Livin' In The Fridge (Parody of Aerosmith's "Living on the Edge" from album Alapalooza)
2. Waffle King (Original from album Alapalooza)
3. Cavity Search (Parody of U2's "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" from album Bad Hair Day)
4. Grapefruit Diet (Parody of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies' "Zoot Suit Riot" from album "Running With Scissors")

These would make a great addition to his food compilation. However, it's a good compilation as it is and is a nice touch to his library. The TV album could also be updated, and I'll get to that next.

When Scottibros. was struggling for money, they turned to Weird al and demanded a new album. He didn't have time, so they made this wrather cheesy compilation which they claim is "re-mixed" (although it's not). Weird Al himself has said that he didn't like this album. But, I think the idea of the album is good, butit's missing something. This was done before "Alapalooza" was finished and before "Bad Hair Day" was. The only problem is it's too short, less than 40 mins. "Weird Al," before only had one missinf food song when the album was released, "Girls Just Want To Have Lunch." They should re-release this album, adding songs like "Livin' In The Fridge," and "Waffle King," from Alapalooza, none from Bad Hair Day, and "Grapefruit Diet," from Running With Scissors. I know that they wouldn't do that, but that would make a nice-length, complete CD with all of his food songs. I know it wouldn't happen, but wouldn't it be cool?

I would have to say that if I wrote a top five W.A.Y. list this
cd come in at about #4. It is a good compilation of his food songs which are some of his best songs. After hearing My Bologna
and The White Stuff, My Sharona and The Right Stuff really stink. The songs that get me laughing the most are: Spam, The White Stuff and Taco Grande. But they are all good. If you don't
already have any Weird Al cd's make this the first and if you
have Weird Al cd's but not this one then be sure to buy a copy.

The funniest CD I ever heard. Ok... so maybe that's more than one, but it doesn't matter. My favorite songs are I Love Rocky Road, Rye or the Kaiser, Eat It, and Fat. The best of his CDs I've ever heard.... though I've only heard this one. But I already ordered 'Running With Scissors', and I can't wait until it comes. 'Taco Grande' isn't one of the best songs I have ever heard, but excluding that it's a great album! I reccomend it for everyone.

Weird Al has done it again! For Al fans, food fans, or for people who need a little humor in their lives.

There are some hilarious songs on this CD. "Taco Grande" is definitely my favorite, but "Lasagna" and "The White Stuff" will have you rolling on the floor in laughter as well.

Some of the songs on "The Food Album" are on other Weird Al CDs, so make sure that you don't already have all of the songs before you buy this CD.

It's amazing how Al can make his songs sound so much like the songs he parodies. You have to listen to the CD quite a few times before you notice all of the hysterical lyrics. Some people think Weird Al is tacky, but come on--he's guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
