From the Inside Flap

My name is Sam Graci and I have dedicated my life to researching the influences of food on the body.

I would like you to take a moment to think about your most recent meal. Now think about how you feel. Are you sluggish or energized? Calm or edgy? We now know that what you just ate is having a profound effect on your mood, energy, clarity of thinking, even your emotional stability. This happens because food affects our hormonal balance— and by guiding you to the right food at the right time I can help you achieve your optimum balance, or what I describe as "complete hormonal health and happiness." What this means to you is incredible day-to-day vitality, the attainment of your optimum body weight and a slowing down of the biological aging process.

In The Food Connection I will take you through the latest research on hormones, sleep patterns, supplements, food combinations and the time of food intake. My goal is to help you design a way of life that promotes "high-fidelity" communication with your hormone system— which is the key to your sustained health, longevity and intellectual vigor.

In our fast-paced, fast-food, fast-eating world we owe it to ourselves to appreciate the impact our diet and lifestyle choices have on so many aspects of our lives. Join me on this intriguing, informative and empowering journey!

4.0 out of 5 stars Mind Blowingly Informative, February 17, 2002
By
Susan MacKenzie (Vancouver, BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Food Connection: The Right Food at the Right Time (Hardcover)
This is the first nutrition book that tells me why. Why do I need to fight free radicals, why do I need to drink water, why do starchy or highly processed foods make me feel the way they do, why are blueberries and other foods so good for me. The information is a bit scientific yet easy to assimilate and I feel I can incorporate his principles into the way I fuel my body. I highly recommend it for those who are looking to increase energy, get a sleep better at night and just plain old take care of your body. I know it's my bible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth you time in gold, May 1, 2011
went to library and found this book. Worth your time in gold. Puts proof that diets low in natural foods is the single biggest resin for heath problems. Lays out a foundation for what carbs proteins and fats are good for you and why. I Would not stop at this book. Reed more books. Men need different diets and exercise than women. IN The Food Connection he recommends 25% protein 25% fat 50% carbs. In the book "The Mars and Venus Diet and Exercise Solution" they recommend the men get 30%protein 20%fat 50%carbs and that women get 20%fat 30%protein 50%carbs. this is just a rule of thumb but help with hormone production.
