Yummy!
Simply wonderful book to read to your children! It's short but can be read again and again! It's the perfect book to read aloud in Cookie's voice!

Perplexing
I don't get this book. OK, it's about cookie monster and food -- that much I understand. Beyond that, I don't know what to make of it. There's cookie monster shopping for groceries! There's cookie monster eating popcorn! And he's saying weird stuff while he does it! There's a page where he's eating something and the only words are "Dum de Dum." What...

I don't get this book. OK, it's about cookie monster and food -- that much I understand. Beyond that, I don't know what to make of it. There's cookie monster shopping for groceries! There's cookie monster eating popcorn! And he's saying weird stuff while he does it! There's a page where he's eating something and the only words are "Dum de Dum." What?
However, my 2 y.o. daughter loves this book. It was her top choice for a few weeks. We couldn't get to the "Dum de dum" page soon enough for her; it cracked her up. I can only conclude that this book is written in some primal code that only small children are capable of comprehending.

Cookie Monster tells young readers all about the things he likes to eat, and there are plenty. The illustrations are really cute and show Cookie having fun in lots of different places. It uses the familiar Cookie Monster voice to the text with me instead of I and such and the sentences are short making it great for the youngest of readers/listeners. My son liked this book a whole lot since Cookie Monster is his new favorite Sesame Street character, but there are several other familiar faces in there as well.

My daughter loves Elmo and Cookie Monster. I was excited to get this book for her since Cookie Monster items aren't as plentiful as Elmo.
Unfortunately, we both find this book a bit on the boring side. The wording is good and in true Cookie Monster fashion. But there's no story. He's just eating different foods. I guess it's what he does best. And though I like the illustrations as an adult, they are not enjoyable for my daughter. They are rather artistically done, so they are toddler-friendly. It just doesn't look like the Cookie Monster that my daughter recognizes and loves.
