Slovenian Cooking at its Best!, March 10, 2011
The Food and Cooking of Slovenia by Janez Bogataj is one of the most beautiful cookbooks I have come across. But, better yet,
it is easy to read, includes metric and U.S. measurements, and includes many recipes that are reminiscent of our immigrant
mothers and grandmothers who came from Slovenia. I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Bogataj some years ago, and that brought
my attention to this particular cookbook.
A few days after receiving my first order of three books, a group of friends gathered for a cooking class of a popular Slovenian
dish. I brought one of the books with me to share. Almost everyone loved it and wanted a copy. I subsequently ordered about
twelve more copies for gifts and for others who did not have computer access. The price varied a bit from the first order. Some
of the others ordered on their own. Everyone who sees The Food and Cooking of Slovenia wants to have one for themselves. A
great find and I thank Amazon for bringing it to my attention. J.K. of Southern California

Generally Good, April 25, 2011
This review is from: The Food and Cooking of Slovenia: Traditions, ingredients, tastes & techniques in over 60 classic recipes (Hardcover)
Beautiful book with lots of ideas. First recipe I tried -- a baked item-- didn't do so well. Should have risen a lot more and been a lot fluffier.
Book could also have spent more time with potica, a food item many people associate as the most Slovenian of all foods.
