Book Description

I, Joey Michaels, am the Food Fight Professional.

Basically this means that if food is flying in the school cafeteria, people think I’m responsible. Working at a soup kitchen as punishment shows me how I can use my reputation in a good way—to organize a “food fight” to fight hunger.

Winning the food fight wouldn’t be so hard if I didn’t have the following three problems:
1) The neighbor girl who records all my mistakes and posts them to the internet
2) Her newly adopted brothers from Haiti who don’t think wasting food is a laughing matter
3) A school principal who wants revenge for the pie I smashed in her face

If I can keep from making too big a mess in the kitchen this time around, I just might be able to have my pie and eat it too.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book to my girls over Spring Break. Great message of grace offered for innocent mistakes (pies in faces). A good example for my girls, to understand that even mistakes can be forgiven and even a little bit funny. Joey is a great character for young people to relate to with all his silly, but well intended antics. Thanks for a fun and very entertaining read. Tara (mom to Malaya and Emerald C.)
It was really really funny. I liked how it talked about helping the hungry people and the homeless. I like the throwing of the pies. -Malaya C. age 10
I liked the part about the meatball in the face and the spaghetti sauce that fell on Joey's head. Funny that Isabelle treated her brothers like dogs by having them do tricks for candy. Loved the story. -Emerald C. age 9

More About the Author

Angela Ruth Strong writes light-hearted and life-changing love stories. The "light-hearted" part comes from her ability to get into interesting situations--such as a hamster ball race or riding on the shoulders of a unicyclist. The "life-changing" part comes from the power of God's love and the beauty of her very own romance. The "story" part comes from her passion for books that she got from her writer mama. And there's nothing else she'd rather do than share these stories with you. Find out more (than you ever wanted to know) at www.angelaruthstrong.blogspot.com.
