This is my top pick out of the 7ish Korean cookbooks that I have purchased over the years.

It's a stand-out Korean cookbook because the recipes actually produce dishes that approximate the taste of what I'd get at a good Korean restaurant here in the bay area or a dish turned out by a really good Korean home cook.

I've followed these recipes very closely and havn't taken chances as far as doing my own substitutions and each dish came out wonderfully! I've not diverged since I don't know what I'm doing in the kitchen and can't risk bungling up a dish.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law who spent some time in Korea. They developed a love for the country and the food. They are both great cooks who enjoy cooking Korean dinners. I think these recipes sound great, and I think they will like this book.

This book includes easy to follow traditional recipes along with pictures to follow for the preparation process. There are also stories on some of the history of Korea and restaurants where the recipes were obtained. Thoroughly enjoyable.
