Great Game - Needed More Content,

I really liked this game, I just wish they had added more content. 30+ recipes is a bit deceiving, as they count all the parts of one meal as separate recipes. For instance, pancakes with bacon counts as two recipes and Cheese Quesadillas with Tomato Salsa and Guacamole counts as three. As you can imagine it doesn't take long to work through all the recipes in the game.
Other than how short it was I had no other complaints and still think it was worth purchasing. The game play is fun and I actually picked up quite a few good tips! I liked that the recipes were real and would actually work in my own kitchen. I recreated the pancakes with nutmeg in real life and they were delicious! Hope they make a sequel - just with way more content.

This game would be really fun except it is a rip of. It tricks you to say it has '30+ Recipes', but they count each meal as about 3 or 4 recipes. There is only 12 Meals! what a rip off! But for the gameplay it is fun. I am used to Cooking Mama, but this is ment for an older audience than Cooking Mama. Basically, you pay about 3.50 per meal on this game. Fun but a big waste. I wanted to LOVE this game. Too bad. Could've been great, if they included more recipes.

Fun, but needs triple the meals to be worth the money,

As mentioned by others, this game is fun and I like the real-world aspect of the game.
I was looking forward to finishing the first screen of meals and moving on to really complicated things seen on FN like reductions, bread baking... they could have gone really far with this game and made it wonderful. I felt completely deflated when I realized the one screen of meals was the entire game. Food Network should offer every product holder a free download on Wii of more meals to protect their good name. I would not buy a FN game again even though it was fun - because of the lame length of the game.

Great game! Our grandaughter (9) loves it! She really hates it when the judges "die" after sampling the dish she cooked :) She is actually learning to cook from the game!

I liked that I could play this with my son. I think he, at 14, picked up a few cooking tips, but I'm an experienced cook and there wasn't anything noteworthy there for me as far as cooking or recipes went. It took me a while to pick up the game, but it was fun learning how to play it. My son jumped right in and was beating me in no time. The controls were easy enough, I think I'm just getting old. :)
I felt like it was a good family game. We played it a good bit for about 2 weeks, then he beat it, and lost interest. It's fun enough when you are playing it, but it wasn't overly memorable for us after a while. Good family fun though, and I noticed my son's interest in REALLY cooking perked up after he got this. I have to give it a 4 for that reason alone.

Received it as a Christmas gift, very fun but as others have stated the case is very misleading- 30 plus recipes- I don't think so. I had a gold medal on all recipes in a day, and sadly I am done! They really should have put more recipes on this game.

luckily i rented this game from gamefly and didn't purchase it. the graphics are beautiful, but the recipes are limited and boring. this could have been so much better.

I picked this game up on sale and what can I say? I didn't expect much. I've never finished a Wii game before and I was hoping that Cook or Be Cooked would be enough motivation to dust off our old Wii and give it a try.
This game is so much fun. Not only that, it's based off of actual recipes and you get really cool cooking tips during the game! What I like most is that there is a great aspect of realism when it comes to gameplay. Multitasking is important, as well as speed. This game is incredibly easy to pick up and I think anyone can learn. I was cranking out silver medal dishes after two tries. Not only is it easy, it's really interactive. The controls aren't all finicky like in other cooking games and you can pretty much make do with vigorously shaking your Wii-mote and nunchuck when chopping. If I had a complaint to make about this game, it'd be the lack of content. I'm definitely no avid gamer and I ended up beating this game in two days. I really wish they added more than just 30-odd recipes to the list. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner, but no dessert! Either way, I highly recommend this game to adults. I bet kids would like it, but it doesn't have the childish fun aspect to it like Cooking Mama or any of those kid-centered games out there.

I really enjoyed this game, but after about 2 hours of play, I was pretty much done with it. The 30+ recipes thing is not true. There are only 12 dishes to make, and I had finished the game in only a few hours. I wish there was more to the game, as it is very enjoyable and very helpful with tips on cooking techniques.

I got this for my 12 y/o grandson, who has been a Food Network junkie since practically before he could speak full sentences. He likes this Wii game just fine and has shared it with several friends. After reading all the other reviews before purchasing I guess it's perfectly OK but not an earth-shaking phenomenon in Wii games. We were looking forward to actually making some of the recipes included in the game, but most of them are pretty basic things that my grandson and/or I have been making for years - like quesadillas (no brainer guys) salsa and guacamole. But overall we have had a lot of fun with it and physically manipulating the Wiimote to chop, stir, grate, etc is quite challenging at times.
