From Library Journal
Written for those in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse and eating disorders, this is an excellent basic book on nutrition. Beasley, director of a clinic that focuses on addictive diseases and nutritional medicine, and Knightly, a faculty member of Manhattan's Natural Gourmet Cooking School, discuss nutrition basics and explain how to select wholesome, unprocessed food. They include 127 good recipes for those who have no prior cooking experience. The only flaw is the mention of the "four food groups," which were replaced almost two years ago by the FDA's new food pyramid. Since this is the first book addressing the nutritional aspects of recovery, it is recommended for all recovery collections.
