5.0 out of 5 stars Young rome is tight
he's always been talented in his immature days but to see him branching out on his on and doing tight stuff like this album is great. He has all different types of songs on there from party to inspirational. Get this CD so you can dance or just relax to.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting
It's hard to figure out what Rome is trying to do. He sounds like a cross between Mase, J'Kwon and Too Short. Some of the track are sexually charged. So if you are buying this for your child, you might want to get the clean version.
Some of the songs:
Freaky: Rome looking for the girls in the club
After Party: Is a little bit like Tipsy, so if you like that...

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the wait, June 23, 2004

well i must say that this cd is definantly worth the wait. Rome's cd is so much on the level of how positive rap should be without being labeled a "sell out" or "weak". "I Don't Care", "Best Days", and "Look Down on Me" are the ABOLUTLEY POSITIVELY best somes on the cd, I love it!!!!! You can tell from the lyrics that he had grown as a person and after going through all of what he explained how could you not. You don't have to be just a IMx, Immature, B2K, or TUG fan to enjoy this cd. I think that once people hear this they will be able to accept a new member into their precious "rap game". Please buy it, don't burn it--this is an album to be reckoned with!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Why is this CD so highly rated?, August 13, 2007
This review is from: Food for Thought (Audio CD)
I was expecting an outstanding CD due to all of the positive reviews about it on this website so when I listened to it, I thought it was the wrong CD.
I can't believe I'm the first user to not praise this album. Don't get me wrong, I love both r&b and rap but this guy sounds like almost any other rapper out there. Young joc, Ying Yang Twins, all of the beats sound the same too. His lyrics are boring. I just don't see anything that stands out. This CD isn't horrible but I don't think I could listen to any of these songs for a whole three minutes.

if you like mainstream rap, then its worth checking out. otherwise, save your money or atleast listen to the samples first.

4.0 out of 5 stars Young Rome DOES feature artists outide of his record label on the cd..., July 20, 2005
This review is from: Food for Thought (Audio CD)
He features Guerilla Black and YoungblooZ, what more could anyone ask for? The cd is very well-rounded, and i give it an 8/10. Freaky and Afterparty are 2 hit singles, and I Don't Care, Sexapade & Wha Cha Doin Tonight all have the potential to be hits if he can regain his popularity in 2005....

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Ups to Young Rome, July 8, 2004

I was a bit skeptical about buying Young Rome's album at first, but now I'm glad that I got it. He is definitely a talented artist and this is reflected throughout the whole cd. I was surprised to hear how unique and orignal his album is. His rapping skills have definitely improved since his Immature/IMx days. I would recommend this album to any and every hip-hop fan, whether you were a fan of Immature/IMx or not. I think this album can be enjoyed by everyone. This album really does give you a good look at who Young Rome is, and it's much different from your average rap album. Among my favorite songs on this album are Freaky (which has a HOTT beat to it) and Best Days (which is the most touching song on the album where he talks about different aspects of his life, including his feelings towards B2K).
Do not sleep on this Young Rome album. He is not the same guy as Romeo...Young Rome has grown up and has a talent that the world needs to see. I highly recommend this album.
P.S. There is a clean version of this album available in case you do not want the explisit version.

This album was extremely good. I really liked the style that he used for all his songs. He has changed since IMX. All the songs has true meaning one of my favorite songs was Wha Cha Doin Tonight with Marques Houston that song was da bomb like the rest of his album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Taste of Food for Thought, June 29, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Food for Thought (Audio CD)
Young Rome's album Food For Thought is truly a great CD. If you don't have this album, I'm telling you that your missing out on something very spectacular. You will definitely hear how Rome's rap game has improved since Immature/IMX days. What I love about this album is how truthful Jerome is about stuff that went on in his life and how it still effects him. There are tracks on this album that you can party to like "After Party", tracks that are more on the 'sensual' side (lol) like "In My Bedroom", and tracks that will make you shed tears like "Best Days". Those are just a few, but TRUST there is a whole lot more to "Food for Thought" than just that... So if you don't have the album now... Go Buy It, It's a must have. I guarantee this album will be something you'll still be listening to for years to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars worth the wait, June 25, 2004

I have been a loyal fan of Jerome Jones aka Young Rome since his early days in Immature. This album shows why that is. I love the all the songs, but "Best Days" and "Look Down On Me" show that he can do more than rap about a girl's body parts like a lot of other rappers. He has shown a maturity and growth that I think will prove the haters wrong and make him a success beyond IMx. When Marques Houston went solo, I was sure it was a matter of time before Jerome did the same. I was excited for it because I had been waiting quite some time. I have to say that he does not disappoint. I especially enjoyed how he had Marques and Kelton on a few tracks of the album. It was nice to see that he hadn't forgotten them even though he's solo for right now. Overall, this CD is very much worth the wait and the money.

After Party: Is a little bit like Tipsy, so if you like that song, you'll like this one.
Crazy Girl: Rome still looking for girls
In My Bedroom: It does sound like a song Too Short would do, just a song about Rome and his girl in her bedroom.
Sexapade: Rome and Marques talking about girls.
Best Days: He talks about the good old days and mentions Half Pint (originally of Immature) and J-Boog, Fizz and Raz B (he claims to miss them-funny nothing is stopping him from talking to any of them). A great song.
In My Car: Rome cruising in his car and seeing girls. This song will remind you of LL Cool J's Six minutes.
Not a bad CD, but I wouldn't advise playing it in front of your parents.
