The Food Tree book is not a diet or weight loss program. Its the basics of using nutrition and proper eating to get to a healthy BMI. No gimmicks, pills, potions, or special food combining techniques. The key is education in Dr. Elvebakk's book. This is also not a diet doctor guru either. Just a bariatric physician's approach to shedding fat cells by not feeding them. The objective is to learn how to feed muscle, starve fat, and adjust food choices so that a patient learns how to use protein effectively. Price wise The Food Tree is very competitive and actually a deal compared to the more expensive commercial weight loss centers. If you are not able to see this doctor in person consider redirecting funds for programs like Nutri System and Jenny Craig to pay out of pocket for her services. The pricing is reasonable even if you don't live in the United States. This is a lifestyle change in how you use food and worth learning. Its fairly simply. Once you learn to feed the lean muscle the weight begins to drop. I combined the lessons in this book with Barre classes and in a week I noticed results that 6 months of cardio and lackluster non-Food Tree eating couldn't deliver.

Dr. E's book should be required reading for everyone. She lays out the basics of what foods to eat, and the optimum cycle in which to consume these foods, for a person to lose weight and then maintain that healthy weight for life. The book also gives insight into the emotional issues that many people have to overcome when they make changes to their diet and lifestyle. If everyone read this book, they would understand the tools needed to reach ultimate health. I reference this book on a weekly basis as a constant reminder that eating for good health is the best thing I can do for myself. My thanks to Dr. E. for providing this wonderful book that will be sure to change your life!

Not only have i lost pounds, the fat i detested looking at, has all but disappeard....muffins gone. I can fit into clothes i was about to give away or to consignment.....and it's all about the "Foodtree" and eating correctly to maintain lean mus. and loose the fat.

I found the book easy to read and understand.

Dr. Elevebak is brilliant!!!!! Thankyou, Dr. Elevebakk.

The Food Tree by Ranveig H. Wow! Never before have I read anything so informative, logical, and easy to undertand regarding conquering those extra pounds and obesity in general. Dr. Elvebakk cuts right to the chase explaining our society's addiction to sugar and how easily it can be resolved. I've been on her program for a year now and, her book has brought me to yet another new level understanding The Food Tree for good health and weight control. This book is for everyone! The best news is, you never get hungry! Way to go, Dr. E!
