Book Description

Food & Wine Annual Cookbook March 28, 2005
Every recipe from every 2004 issue of Food & Wine, the top-selling cuisine magazine--all in one beautiful volume.

More than 900,000 subscribers heartily agree: there's always something delicious going on at Food & Wine. And it's all here in the annual cookbook, which includes every recipe published in the magazine during the year 2004--more than 500 dishes accompanied by scrumptious-looking photographs. But that's not all: the volume will include 50 all-new kitchen tips, as well as an extensive glossary of readily-available wines. The contributors remain absolutely stellar, cuisine's finest, including Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Jacques Pépin, and Paula Wolfert. Such recipes as the mouthwatering Fettuccine with Mushrooms and Prosciutto, Beef Tenderloin with Bacon and Creamed Leeks, and Double Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Filling are kitchen-tested on home equipment, making them easy to re-create. Here's real food that real people who want to eat well can actually prepare, dishes that reflect the many ways we cook today.

Love the recipes and the lay out of this book. Also nice that main dishes are paired with suggested wines. I'm a big fan of the "Food & Wine" cookbooks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the Gastronomical Fan!, August 25, 2011
This review is from: Food & Wine Annual Cookbook 2005: An Entire Year of Recipes (Hardcover)
I love to eat and I'm not that much of a cook in general. I prefer the social interaction at restaurants and supermarkets rather than just cooking for myself. Anyway, this annual cookbook is a great gift to those who prefer to cook. Food & Wine magazine has compiled a yearly edition for fans and readers alike.

The layout is done with pictures of some of the items with some helpful hints regarding products and helpful suggestions. The recipes have been tried and experimented by the magazine staff. While I'm not much of a cook, I would highly recommend this book to those who are amateur or professional chefs to read and use for their own gourmet meals.

The layout of the book is divided into starters, salads, soups, pasta, poultry, beef & lamb, pork & veal, fish, shellfish, vegetables, potatoes, grains & more; breads, pizzas, & sandwiches; breakfast & brunch, pies & fruit desserts, cakes, cookies & more; sauces & condiments; and drinks.

The final appendix of the book is complete with a useful index regardings type of food and an index of the chefs, celebrity and rising stars in the restaurant industry. I think anybody who loves Food & Wine magazine should have a copy of this yearbook to add to their cookbook collection.

This review is from: Food & Wine Annual Cookbook 2005: An Entire Year of Recipes (Hardcover)
I have always enjoyed Food & Wine magazine -- but when I saw this cookbook during an out of town visit at my sister's home in Maryland, I instantly fell in love and wanted one of my own!! I ordered the book from her computer,an could not wait to get home to review the recipes again. Fantastic selection of recipes, something to fit everyone' tastes! Thanks for a wonderful publication, from another up and coming "Great Cook"!!
