I just love, love, love the Foodsaver (I have the V1205 in white). My Dad gave it to me because I am a Costco maniac, I love stocking up! I buy meat in bulk and vacuum pack individual servings for my husband and I. I have also used it on veggies, it is great on any food and it is so easy to use. It even used it on lettuce. It comes with bags and rolls, initially I used the bags but now I personally prefer the rolls and the rolls are actually less expensive than the bags. With the "store and cut" you can easily cut the roll to make just the right size bags for whatever you are vacuum packing. I never thought I would use it as much as I do. It is so easy to use, all you do is plug it in, seal one end, fill it and vacuum pack. Also, the cord tucks in underneath which makes it easier to store. This is great for any size family, I use it all the time for just 2 people. I wish I got it sooner. Very highly recommended! A+A+A+A+A+A+A+A+A+

I am now on my 3rd foodsaver in six or seven years. While they are working properly they are great. After about two years, they always seem to stop drawing a vaccuum. The vaccuum pump will run and run but it will not draw a vaccuum. With all the freezing my family does we will continue to keep replacing them because the quality of the vegetables is extended by well over a year. It's worth it to us to replace them every two years. I just wish Tilia would build one at reasonable price that would last about five years.

Do you find yourself throwing away too much food? You wouldn't if you had one of these. The foodsaver is the best defense against watching your precious food dollars go down the drain. Air is the worst thing for food. Air is what causes foods to spoil. If you vacuum pack your food and freeze it it will last for months and months. That's what the Foodsaver does. Don't be fooled by cheaper imitations. They have fans that pull some of the air out of the bag. The Foodsaver is a professional machine that removes all of the air from the storage bags.

You will be able to save money buy buying foods in bulk. No need to worry that it will spoil before you get to eat it. I go to the meat warehouses and stock up. Then I vacuum pack everything. You can even season your meats before you seal them. Store your leftovers or pre-prepare foods to cook later. The storage bags can be put into boiling water to reheat or cook foods and they can go in the microwave for defrosting foods.

The Foodsaver is not appropriate for everything though. Don't try to store a loaf of bread or a bag of chips. They be crushed because the suction of the unit is too strong. There are special containers that you can buy for things like that. One of the best places to find them is QVC.

NOT JUST FOR FOOD!!!

Do you have something of value that you want to protect? Seal it! You can seal handwritten music, clothing, crafts, games, vintage items that you want to keep away from water or dampness, etc. Take it camping with you or seal items that you want to take with you on a picnic.

The Foodsaver is the best investment I've ever made for my kitchen. You'll be very pleased with it.

I have always wanted one of these. I finally broke down and bought myself one for Mother's Day. I love it so much that I bought my mother the compact model for Mother's Day.

I've really been enjoying my food saver. I didn't really think it would save money overall but it defintely is. It keeps meat and vegetables very fresh tasting even after a significant time in the freezer. I don't have to throw away more pork chops that got lost in the bottom of the freezer and suffered significant freezer burn. I also find you can re-use the bags (from non raw meat storage) if you cut them appropriately so that's not a total waste either. Great product, helps me save money and is easy to use and pretty minimal storage size too.

I love my foodsaver.. in fact this is my second. The first model I bought worked well... but it was very simple. I prefer this one because it has more options... and it holds a roll of bags inside. My only wish is that I bought the black one.. because somehow I stained the casing. I rubbed it down with some bleach sprayed on a towel and let it sit overnight.. and the stain remained. I found all the included containers to be of great use.. except the mason jar one. It has never worked for me... or for friends of mine who also own foodsavers. Regardless.. it's worth buying!

For the first three weeks I was very happy with this product. It sealed both bags and canisters quickly and efficiently.

However three weeks after getting it, it completely stopped working. Fortunately Amazon has a very good return policy so I will be getting a replacement. When I get the new one I will give another review after having it a few month or until it dies again.

The FoodSavers used to be made in Italy. Now they are made in China and some people have told me that the quality control has really dropped off
