Stopped Holding a Seal After a Few Uses,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: FoodSaver 1.5-Quart Designer Canister (Kitchen)
I was hoping to use this to keep coffee beans fresh which means a lot of sealing and unsealing. This product worked great for the first few times then it stopped holding a seal after a few days, then a day, then a few hours, now it won't seal at all.
I owned the 1st generation containers and those were junk too. When will Tilia get it right?

Why does this company sell junk?,

It has been so frustrating to have containers like this that crack along the bottom and loose integrity after only a few uses. Which is better than the company that sells products like these: it doesn't have integrity to begin with.

All three canisters cracked within 4-9 months. Now begins the task of trying to get Amazon to give me a partial credit?

Poor designed and becomes junk,

This product worked well at first but after about 8 or 9 uses the bottom started to crack. Eventually it cracked enough that you can't get a seal. Clearly the canister was not properly designed to withstand the stress of the repeated vacuum cycles.

I have owned these for almost 1 yr now and continually use them as part of my food stoarge system. My crackers last for a couple months, so too my fritos, ice cream cones and potato chips. I am single and so this is a great advantage as I don't have to throw food away. I don't freeze them or use in fridge. Yes, they sometimes crack on bottom but it does not make them unusable and I have not an issue with any of the Tilia products not sealing, and I own many of their products. Sometimes the machine gets hot and it needs to rest and cool for a minute to seal (Esp of you are sealing multiple pkgs.) I use the rolls of material to package burger patties and break up huge portions if vegies into ind. sizes. I think this is one of my wisest investment choices as an empty nester, which is why I am taking the time to write this review.

These are a constant tools I employ, mostly with food, but great with anything requiring No Air.
I keep my cats dry food in one on the counter top, it's reopened at least twice a day, and they definitely look forward to the "fresh" stuff. I haven't frozen anything in these as yet but, in the refrigerator, in the cupboard, always in use. even short term storage. Those who use (Foodsaver) know what I mean. |
