This has been an awesome little machine that sucks air out of everything i put in those bags. I have been doing a lot of food storage and it is hanging in there.

The V2222 has worked well since day one. I have been surprised at how well it quickly seals the bags. There are so many models to choose from, but this is a great foodsaver for the price. I see no reason to buy the $300 models when this one is fine for everyday use.

I have read alot of bad reviews on the foodsaver not working well. I have found if you take your time AND PAY ATTENSION to what you are doing it works every time. Bag has to be flat with no wrinkles. The more you use it the easier it gets to use.

We have a fisherman in our family and during fishing season, we use this vacuum sealer to save and freeze his catches.

Prior to using a vacuum sealer, we'd double wrap the fish in plastic wrap, then freeze in a ziploc bag. Fish froze well for only a year this way.

Since using the vacuum sealer, we are able to still enjoy fish 5 years later with no freezer burn or damage.

Very easy to use. Simply set the bag in place, make sure it's situated correctly, then push a button.

* * note * * heed the instruction booklet and allow 20 seconds between vacuums. I got impatient and started doing one after another without waiting. After awhile, the machine did not vacuum efficiently and I ended up just wasting time having to re-do the process anyway. I didn't ruin the machine, but did have to wait and let it rest and cool down before beginning again.

There are larger models available which house the plastic rolls within the device, but I purchased a small separate bag cutter.

Storage of these two smaller items is much easier than having to manage and find space in my cabinet for one large machine.

It vacuum packs amd keeps your foods fresh longer, quickly and easily. It seems to be just what we needed. It's especially nice when we buy meats at Sams Club, BJs wholesale or Costco, less waste from spoiled or freezer burned food helps us to realise the savings from buying in quantity.

I have had my Foodsaver V2222 model since Christmas. It does not work. Our old Foodsaver model that we had for 15 years worked better and it was hit and miss at best. We were able to seal only a couple bags (new bags) and vacuum seal 1 bag. I borrowed my daughter-in-laws Foodsaver model V365. I set them up side by side on the counter. I was vacuum sealing raw chicken that I had purchased in bulk. I tried the 2222 and nothing! I tried the 365 and it vacuum sealed them tight as a drum. I would not recommend the V2222 to anyone including my worst enemy!

Bought this last night locally. We'd gone grocery shopping and decided we really needed a vacuum sealer.

When I was little, we had a Seal-A-Meal and were going to go and pick up one. Unfortunately, the places that supposedly had one, were actually sold out. This model was about 3x as much as the Seal-A-Meal, but we decided to give it a go. Got an extra box of 8" x 20' rolls to go with (I would prefer to make my own bags rather than buy pre-cut).

This is a basic unit without a lot of frills. There are two buttons on it, one to just seal a bag and the other to vacuum out the air and then seal it. Took me a few minutes to get the hang of getting the bag set up. The unit opens and if you look inside the drip tray, there are two guides. I've been putting the open end of the bag between the guides and it seems to be correct.

Turning the side handle until it locks, you really need to turn it. The first few times I tried, I didn't get it all the way. We figured out that it needed to be turned toward the back until it pointed toward the countertop. Once we got that part figured out, the light turned on and it did what it was supposed to do.

The rolls have white markings on the edges. These are great for measuring, I would put the edge near the stuff I was going to put in the bag and see how long the piece would be. Then add a a section and cut the bag. If its really juicy, add an extra section.

The instructions suggest pre-freezing juicy or delicate things so that they won't crush or make a mess while sealing. I didn't pre-freeze the meat I just did, next time I will because it was a bit juicy and it did smush the meat. Seemed that none of the juice ended up in the drip tray, so I guess it wasn't too juicy.

So far, I am pleased with this purchase. On another review someone suggested getting a rotary paper cutter for cutting bags from a roll. I may have to get one at some point.
