Have tried many various brands over the years and this NOW brand, using the 8 billion count, gives me the best results

I read before about how this pills helped someone else on her breath, AND LET ME TELL YOU I WAS HAVING AWFUL PROBLEMS WITH IT ALSO, SO I'M TAKING THIS PILLS ON EMPTY STOMACH IN THE MORNING AND IS JUST AMAZING HOW IT HAVE BEEN HELPING ME IN MY DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, NO MORE BAD BREATH, MY IMMUNE SYSTEM ALSO IS IMPROVED. I'M VERY SATISFIED , NOW I'M SHARING WITH YOU PEOPLE.

After trying many "cures" for Yeast Infection, without success, I took NOW Biotics until it was evident my colon condition was improved, about three weeks, Then I resumed using the topical cream my doctor prescribed, and the fungus began disappearing in twenty-four hours, I continued taking the NOW Foods probiotics and the topical treatment. After a few weeks the fungus was gone.

I think this really works. I am prone to yeast infection and UTI. After a week of taking these, I feel better down there and my urine color looks healthier than previous months.

I want to start by saying that I'm a big fan of Now products. The low rating is not with respect to the quality of product that the company puts out. I have purchased this item from my local natural food store in the past and I decided to buy this through Amazon since I had been traveling and unable to make my regular store stops. When the product arrived, however, there was no cold pack. It was shipped like anything else. This made me wonder whether Amazon even refrigerated the product at all while it was stored at the warehouse. If they are not refrigerated, the potency (that you are paying for) will be much less than advertised (and therefore unreliable and likely overpriced). The bottle clearly writes "KEEP REFRIGERATED TO MAINTAIN HIGH POTENCY." Apparently Amazon.com did not see that label.

Those with digestive issues and/or those prone to fungal infections should give acidophilus a try. I've taken acidophilus for about a year and Now's product seems to be the best. Taking acidophilus allows me to eat what I want and take necessary medications without worry of some undesirable side effect. NOW's acidophilus doesn't cause stomach upset and the ability to take one cap a day instead of three or four (as is needed with other probiotics) is an added bonus. A person could eat yogurt but I think swallowing a capsule with my other daily vitamins is easier.

Be aware that this product contains milk derivatives. Amazon's current product page indicates "Does Not Contain: milk,yeast,wheat,corn,soy,egg,preservatives." My bottle clearly says that it has milk derivatives and has a cautionary note that those who are highly sensitive to milk protein should be aware that NOW's acidophilus may contain minute amounts of casein.

Here are the supplement facts:

Lactobacillus acidophilus 4.0 billion
Bifidobacterium lactis 3.2 billion
Bifidobacterium longum 0.8 billion
Total Minimum Microorganisms 8.0 billion

Other Ingredients: Potato starch, cellulose (capsule), cellulose, silica and magnesium stearate (vegetable source).

The bottle notes the following for recommended usage: "As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily between meals or on an empty stomach. Consider taking this product in combination with a NOW fiber supplement, Nutra Flora(tm) FOS and Optimal Digestive System."

Note: Amazon does not ship this product in a refrigerated container. Ideally, acidophilus should be refrigerated to maintain potency. I purchased from Amazon (in late fall when it was quite chilly) and found it to be great but another place to order that ships it in an iced Styrofoam package is Iherb.com.

This is imperative to your health... I kid you not. I used to spend a half hour on the road to purchase the aforementioned product from our local health food store... And might I add .. at a larger price.

This restores the balance in your digestive tract, especially as you age.

I cannot say enough about this probiotic.

I've been much more regular if you know what I mean since using this product. I would recommend this product highly.

Purchased this product for our 6 year old lahsa apso who has had a persistent problem with yeast in the ears. Give she and her 14 year old friend 1/2 capsule 2x daily by mixing in with food. Started noticing an improvement within a week and will continue. Great product...no more smelly ears/

I just started taking this to try to combat a very bad yeast infection. Seems to help. I've also been eating a ton of probiotic yogurt, taking a garlic suppliment, etc. So I'm not really sure what worked to help cure me, but it did finally.
