5.0 out of 5 stars love my Green Tea
I was taking green tea extract for about three months and I did like it, I think it helped me lose some weight I was trying to shed. I then started working with a personal trainer (she's amazing!) who also has a masters degree in nutrition. She suggested I try taking Yohimbine with my green tea extract. 1.0 out of 5 stars I could not take these.
I wanted to try green tea extract for the remote but possible chance for weight loss benefits alongside my diet and exercise plan. A couple of days in I started to have wavy distortions in my vision that made working difficulty. Because I also have floaters and glasses, I was concerned that I may have developed a problem with my retinas. I ran to my optometrist...

5.0 out of 5 stars love my Green Tea, April 2, 2012
This review is from: NOW Foods Green Tea Extract, 250 Capsules / 400mg (Health and Beauty)
I was taking green tea extract for about three months and I did like it, I think it helped me lose some weight I was trying to shed. I then started working with a personal trainer (she's amazing!) who also has a masters degree in nutrition. She suggested I try taking Yohimbine with my green tea extract. I had heard of Yohimbine at this point but had no experience with it.

From the research I've done, my understanding is that it blocks Alpha2 activation allowing for greater fat breakdown to occur and also increase blood flow to adipose tissue, making it perfect for targeting stubborn fat. And when taken with green tea (or caffeine but I prefer green tea) the effects are multiplied.

I initially got some from GNC but found a much better deal for yohimbine on amazon (I love you amazon!); 5 Grams Yohimbine HCL 99% Bulk Powder. The difference when combining these too has been unmistakeable. More energy, more endurance, and my body-fat percentage is now lower than it has been in 20+ years, I'm completely elated!

5.0 out of 5 stars raise your metabolism, lose weight, December 17, 2011

I read about a harvard study that indicated those that consume green tea everyday, without any change in diet or physical activity, lost on average about 10 lbs. I hate green tea in liquid form, so decided to give this a try for the last year. I can say that I have lost about 8 lbs. For the low cost, I feel this has been a great investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars green tea extract, April 10, 2012

Green tea has SO many health benefits, but I don't really like the taste very much :( so I started taking these caps a few months ago. I can get most of the health benefits of the tea, without having to drink it! I recommend them to anyone and everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good anti-inflammatory/energy booster, January 19, 2012

This review is from: NOW Foods Green Tea Extract, 250 Capsules / 400mg (Health and Beauty)
After reading about the effects of green tea on fat metabolism I decided to incorporate it into my carb-cycling cutting regiment. I've been taking ~4 pills/day (2 in the morning/2 before working out) for the past four months. Overall, I've lost quite a bit of fat but I can't attribute all of it to green tea.

I used to get headaches very often (not because of dehydration), but they stopped after I began taking green tea. After some primary literature research, I found that that EGCG-one of the catechins found in green tea-inhibits a molecule involved in the NFKB inflammatory pathway, so maybe that's why.

If you're taking green tea to boost metabolism then you should take it with a cup of coffee and/or other source of caffeine. Studies have shown that the thermogenic and lipolytic effects of green tea have the most effect when taken with caffeine-caffeine is also a natural thermogenic.

Also, other studies have shown that taking green tea + caffeine 20 minutes prior to exercising increases fatty acid metabolism by as much as ~17% when compared to placebo groups.

Overall, the positive side effects of green tea are numerous and may, in part, account for solving the mystery of the'Asian Paradox.' I apologize for not listing any sources, but a quick search on a major scientific journal will provide you with all you need.

P.s Besides green tea I would highly recommend looking at alpha lipoic acid, melatonin, green vibrance, and whey protein as possible supplements to better your health and help you with weight loss.

Two did the trick. One in the morning and then one at lunch. Was afraid to take it in the evening. Could have done without the Vitamin C, but it works great. No Jitters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Quality for Lessoning Inflamation (Prostatitis)., June 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NOW Foods Green Tea Extract, 250 Capsules / 400mg (Health and Beauty)
Long story short I had/have prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate) and my doctor prescribed a anti-biotic along with recommending that I take a vitamin high in Sylenium and Licopene, which I had already been doing for well over a year before being diagnosed by taking a mutli-vitamin supplemental. Additionally my Doctor recommended abstaining from red wine, beer and spicy food (now I must confess this I did not do very well, who can?)

After the antibiotics were used up the symptoms lessoned but did not entirely go away. My PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) level was constant (no increase or decrease) but the Dr. said to just monitor it every year or so and continue taking a multi-vitamin on a daily basis.

After reading many online stories of others with Prostatitis, some articles suggested that taking an anti-oxident (like Green Tea Extract) could make things much more comfortable by reducing the inflamation effect. Armed with that knowledge I decided to give it a shot and bought two bottles of this product and three weeks later my protstatis syptoms significantly decreased. Upon my annual checkup with my Doctor I mentioned to him that I continued to take a multi-vitamin and in addition to that Green Tea Extract as well and told him my results. He told me that taking any anti-oxidents is highly recommended and he recommended that I continue taking the Green Tea Extract.

Fast forward, I still take my other multi-vitamin and when I ran out of this product for one week I noticed that my prostatitis was coming back...As soon as I started taking it again the symptons went away almost immediately.

Currently I am taking 1 pill a day but may up it to 2 pills a day like someone else recommended. I take mine currently in the morning..If I take it in the evening I am not able to go to sleep on time.

I am not saying that this pill will cure your prostatitis but for me it helped make life a LOT more comfortable plus its an all natural product which scored bonus points with me.

I will say that over the course of 1 year when I started to taking this product I have lost 30 lbs...But I don't know if that was due to changing my eating habits (eating healthier now) or if Green Tea Extract was the main cuprit. Physically speaking, I have done about the same amount of excercise over that time (pretty active).

Either way, since taking this product I feel much better, have more energy, much more focused and alert than I was before and most of all no, or very little, symptoms of Prostatitis.

Try a bottle and give yourself a few weeks before passing judgement on this product, be it for weightloss, overall well-being or lessoning inflamation effects.

Cheers!

John

I bought this because I love green tea but I don't always have it at my house. It is high quality and I would recommend it to anyone. Although everyone is different, this product definitely helped maintain/increase my metabolism. Since I began taking it, I've lost about 10 pounds and have been able to maintain my weight. Great product!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product., September 13, 2011
This review is from: NOW Foods Green Tea Extract, 250 Capsules / 400mg (Health and Beauty)
I've recently started taking these every morning with breakfast. Its great for energy and appetite curbing. I think I have already lost some weight. I don't always like the taste of green tea and this is a good alternative. (I try not to take it with my multivitamin because certain chemicals in tea/coffee can prevent iron absorption.)
