I started using Lavalin in the late 1980's. It was fantastic. I never wanted to be without it so I'd buy it by the case. It would normally last 3 to 4 weeks, never less. Last year when my latest supply was depleted I could only find the new "white" Lavalin. What a big disappointment. If I got a week it was exceptional. Normally it would wear off in 3 to 4 days. For those users who think the current Lavalin is 5 star, you should have seen the original - you'd have done backflips. Like some of the other reviewers I am looking for a replacement product. I'd compare what they've done to Lavalin to what you'd experience if Starbuck's started using only one coffee bean per cup! It stinks...come to think of it, so do I now!

I originally got poor performance from the new formula too, but then I noticed that the instructions had changed from the old formula. The old formula said to wash it off in the morning, and that's what I was doing with the new formula, getting very poor results. But as soon as I noticed the new instructions, which say nothing about washing it off, and I didn't scrub it off in the morning, it seems to work about as good as the old stuff. You can still wash (run water over it), just don't scrub.

I used Lavalin Underarm deodorant for many years and loved it. It would last for a week+ and I never had to worry about smelling offensive to myself and others. The NEW (white container) product just does not work for even a day, making it extremely expensive to use as well. I'm now in search of a new natural deodorant unless we can convince the company to BRING BACK THE OLD PRODUCT!

Product is excellent, but on the Lavilin Deodorant page, the .44 oz size is listed by several vendors at around $9.00 and change. Vitasprings lists a "Large" size (no weight specified) at $14.39. Assuming that the $14.39 size was "larger" that the $9.00 size, I ordered 4 and received the .44 oz size. I'm out about 20 bucks. Neither Vitasprings nor Amazon will make this right. Buyer beware.

When the company changed to the new, smaller container for the same price, they obviously did something to the formula. Fortunately it still works for me, just not as long as the old formula. I know several people who use this and a few have had to stop as the new formula just does not work for them. Out of a dozen or so people I have asked, not one has the same good luck with the cream in the white containers as they did with the cream in the black containers. Shame on you Lavilin for changing a product that worked so well.

I've been using Lavilin for over 20 years, the kind that came in the old black container. As the other reviewers mentioned, it was a great non-toxic alternative to the standard deodorants offered. It was almost scent free and it worked. I usually just needed 2-3 applications a month. The one thing I didn't like was having to apply it with my fingers. It seemed a small price to pay for a long-lasting, effective, non-toxic product.

I've just tried the new version of Lavilin. The manufacturer told me the only thing about it that has changed is the consistency of the cream, to make it more spreadable. Well, it is more spreadable, but it also has a stronger scent. I just applied it yesterday and the scent was noticable to me all day, and unpleasant. It does not seem like an added perfume, but just the scent of the ingredients. Also, just as with the old formula, this Lavilin is hard to wash off my hands. In fact, I couldn't get it completely off. My fingers felt a iittle gummy and smelled of it all day.

I have found a deodorant I like better, the Now Long Lasting Deodorant stick. (See my review of that product here on Amazon). It is delicately scented with lavender oil, but that dissipates almost immediately after application. I was able to go 9 days before needing to apply it again, during a major heat wave. And it's a stick so I don't need to get it on my fingers to apply. Yay!

The Lavilin people [...] sent me a free sample so I could try it before I buy it. If you're curious about the product, I suggest doing that first.

The Lavilin wore off today, 6 days after applying it. The NOW product lasted 9 days.

Please try. This is a tried and true product!
I am 53, menopause is an issue with me all the hot flashes can really make you smell :(
I used crystals for awhile then they just stopped working!
Heard about lavilin and WOW! what a difference!and all you need is a little so it really does go along way.
Use it after your evening shower.Use just a water drop size on your fingertip and apply in the center of your arm pit and smooth out lightly.
You wake up in the morning smelling fresh! and i find i only have to reply every 2 or 3 day's.

I agree with the others who noticed a drop in effectiveness. I still buy the stuff but it lasts only about three days using the new formula.

I saw Lavilin on the Deal or Dud 10 o'clock local news channel and thought I would give it a try. The program tested Lavilin on a local fire department here, and it worked! Since my husband is a fireman, I thought I'd put it through my own personal trial, and it truly does work! My husband and I both use it and are very pleased with the results. It does not stain our clothes and works very well as both an antiperspirant and deodorant. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

I have been using Lavilin for 15 years now and it is definitely the only deodorant that has ever worked for me. Thing is, it takes a few weeks of using more than once a week when you first start out using it before it will become effective, at least that is my experience. Also, if you don't constantly keep up on a steady regimen that works for you, it wont work as well. Once you are on a consistent regimen, it works great. When I have gotten off of my regimen due to running out of the stuff or being out of town and not having it with me, I have had to start all over again. I personally have to use it about every 5 days to keep the stink away. Another note, if you try using a regular deodorant in between lavilin uses, that pretty much ruins the chance of the lavilin being effective. Your arm pits cannot be clogged with other deodorants for this one to work well. Also helps if you don't get sweaty at all for a few hours when first applied, it seems to make a big difference for me. Like I said, it takes a some work for this product to be completely effective, but it is well worth it if you can get into a routine.
