From the Back Cover

SHE’S CRAVING A SWEET NEW LIFE…

Call her a fool, but chef-in-training Chloe Madison wants to have her cake and eat it too. So when her boyfriend dumps her for some French tart, she decides to start over from scratch—with a new life and job in Sugar Creek, Vermont. What could be sweeter than cooking for an eccentric lady who’s crazy for desserts? What could be more tempting than joining a club called the Cupcake Lovers? Just one thing: local business-hunk Devlin Monroe…

AND HE’S THE ICING ON THE CUPCAKE

Although he’s  the grandson of Chloe’s fun-loving boss, Devlin Monroe is all work and no play. Micro-managing the family business, he doesn’t have time to indulge in life’s  sweetest pleasures—until he meets Chloe. How can he resist such a vibrant, beautiful woman who brings so much passion to the table? But when old grudges and secrets threaten to destroy the Cupcake Lovers, Devlin must decide if his feelings for Chloe are a recipe for disaster—or a sinfully delicious ever-after…

This book has made me fall in love with my home state all over again. From general stores to cell phone difficulties to moose, Beth Ciotta has captured living in small town Vermont perfectly.

I was so fortunate to get an early copy of this book. From the beginning Chloe felt like she would be a really good girlfriend. As she leaves her old life behind to pick up the pieces of her broken heart in Sugar Creek, Vermont, she takes a job as a companion to Devlin Monroe's grandmother Daisy. Daisy is an absolute hoot, and she manages to get Chloe into soooo much trouble, much to Dev's chagrin. Slowly but surely though, Chloe manages to steal Dev's heart and make him realize what's important in life.

Chloe also ends up involved in the lives of the various members of the Cupcake Lovers Club, an organization that raises money for various causes and bakes up some yummy cupcakes at the same time. It will be so much fun to see some of these characters get their own books.

As a moose fanatic, a big smile stretched across my face when one of the critters ended up playing an important role in the story, and I can't wait to read more about Sugar Creek's new Internet cafe!

Anyone who enjoys small town, contemporary romance can't go wrong with this delicious new series. It's heartwarming, fun, and just plain scrumptious!

Beth Ciotta has stepped up her game with this wonderful first book in her new "Cupcake Lovers" trilogy. While Ciotta has always written strong female characters, personal chef Chloe Madison has a depth and backstory that is particularly engaging. Add to that some great romantic twists and turns, the always-anticipated and tantalizing "spice" of a good romance novel, and the very fully realized community of Sugar Creek (I want to live there!) -- and you have a delicious beginning to an extremely promising three-course feast.

OK....I read the reviews on this book and read things like "Sweet"....."Made me fall in love with my home state all over again." Not one person mentioned the soft porn this author falls back on because she apparently is not able to capture the attraction between the two main characters in any other way. I would have appreciated someone noting that the frequent references to lust, sex and the "F" word were a part of this book. So I am noting that here in my review. If I wanted a Harlequin romance novel, I would have purchased one. This author has way too much talent than to sell herself short in this way.

A new start awaits, once she's ready to grab hold. Chloe leaves broken hearted, but determined to make things better for herself. Chloe meets the woman she'll be working for, and she'll be learning a few life lessons from this woman that's about to change her life! One of my favorite characters is Daisy. She's in her elderly years, but doesn't let that stop her from living, much to the dismay of her grandson, Devlin. And he's not that happy about Chloe just allowing his grandmother to be so frivolous.

Fool For Love is a wonderful small town, foodie romance. The characters have a way of creeping into your heart and staying there. I was rooting for Chloe from the start, from how she had to pick up the pieces and move on. Devlin could take a few lessons from his grandmother, as he's sometimes a stick in the mud. But Chloe changes him for the better.

All around, Fool For Love is a wonderful story. I loved Ms. Coitta's writing, and this new romance is another to add to the keeper's list.

Fool for love is the perfect book to warm the heart of romantic women... and of those who have a sweet tooth (for both cakes and men!). But rest assured, your diet won't be at risk while reading the love adventures of Chloe Madison, a beautiful thirty-year woman, who has graduated as a chef after tons of different jobs. Chloe has just been dumped by an older man and has to take an important decision about her life and she decides to follow the advice of her friend Monica. She accepts a job as a chef and driver for the old lady Daisy, an uncommon woman with a huge and protective family. In the small but lovely town of Sugar Creek, Chloe will meet Devlin Monroe, Daisy's nephew, single with a certain charm. And let's not forget the Cupcake club, just what Chloe needs, since she hates cakes...

The book does exactly what I expected it to do: I spend a couple of hours smiling and having fun, reading a light love story, with romanticism and clever lines

Chloe is a very nice protagonist, even if I didn't really appreciate the fact that she is a good-looking as a model... a chef so slim and perfect actually makes me have some doubts, but that's just me. She's really lovely, with her insecurities and her way to approach Daisy. The old lady that wants to try everything and jump on every adventure head on is absolutely the best character in the story, even if there is a slightly bitter tone towards the end. The Monroe family is very united even though each component has their own secrets and past.
