5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody plays the fool sometime!
The main characters in this story had both been played for a fool by their spouses. Imagine being 8 months pregnant and finding out that your spouse had been having an affair, and has just died in a motel fire with his white mistress. Would you not mentally and emotionally freak out? The heroine of the book, Justine did just that...which leads her to doing something...

2.0 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTING....
to say the least! as good as the earlier reviews were of this book, i thought that for sure it'd be worth the time to read it. i must admit, the beginning was pretty good, but it just seemed to drag on from there. just dragging on with justine and duncan denying their feelings until you felt like saying, 'enough already!' stop the stupid dance of denial!

all in all, i...

5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody plays the fool sometime!, May 1, 2000

This review is from: Fools Rush In (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
The main characters in this story had both been played for a fool by their spouses. Imagine being 8 months pregnant and finding out that your spouse had been having an affair, and has just died in a motel fire with his white mistress. Would you not mentally and emotionally freak out? The heroine of the book, Justine did just that...which leads her to doing something she would never have done under normal conditions---give her baby girl up for adoption. Once she was emotionally healed enough to go looking for her baby, she found not only her daughter, but the love of her life in Duncan, the man who had adopted her. Duncan had issues of his own, but it just made the story more interesting. A great read which I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars When "Fools Rush In"....love prevails, September 22, 1999
This review is from: Fools Rush In (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is another winner from the incomparable Gwynne Forster. No other writer has quite her talent for taking such seemingly insurmountable issues--a child, her biological mother and adoptive father, and the secrets and betrayal haunting them both--and coming up with such an engrossing love story.

I made the mistake of taking this book to work and hardly got any work done because I could not wait to find out what would happen next. Duncan Banks is every woman's fantasy of the perfect man...loving, passionate, community-minded, and a fantastic father. And Justine is his perfect match. I cried tears of joy as these two realized the love they shared not only for their precious daughter, but for each other.

Last but definitely not least, I want to thank Ms. Forster for reintroducing Banks and Wayne Roundtree. I absolutely loved the way their story worked out. Please keep me updated! And Duncan's housekeeper Mattie was an absolute riot. Keep up the excellent work, Ms. Forster. I look forward to your next novel.

Gwynne Forster manages to mix some interesting, current social issues with riveting romance. I was so drawn to the characters. They seemed like persons I knew - really knew and could sympathize with. They were real people, with real problems working them out the best way they knew how. And the sexual tension between Justine and Duncan! Talk about burning up the pages without even touching! That was fantastic stuff. The romance between Wayne Roundtree and Banks added a nice touch to the story. Mattie was a riot.

A beautiful storyline with memorable characters with their own special quirks and faults, but still perfectly loveable. No scenes which came over as artificially contrived. A definite keeper. Keep it up Ms. Forster - I love your stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fools may rush in, but love conquers all!!!, September 28, 1999

I absolutely adored this novel. Gwynne is one of my favorite authors. Her characters and story plots are unlike any other author. I enjoyed the story of Justine, Duncan and Tonya. I was also impressed that Mrs. Forster incorporated characters from one of her early novels. Not to mention the love affair and marriage of Duncan's sister and Wayne Roundtree. I washappy that Justine and Duncan finally got together at the end of the novel and despite her treachery, they made amends. Excellent reading!!! Keep up the good work Gwynne.

This book was so good. This is the first book that I've read of hers and I want to read more. Justine and Duncan are great characters that are real and down to earth. I, too, wish that I could find a man like him.

I loved this story. Like all of Ms. Forster other stories, it was precise, throrough and passionate. I loved the storyline of Justine and Duncan. It was also good to see characters from her earlier novel Against All Odds. This is a great story and if you haven't read you definitely should.

This is the 2nd book that I have read from this author. The first was Love Me Tonight which I only gave 2 stars, and was really not that happy with. This book I throughly enjoyed. The story was just soo good, and I am just dying to know what happens next with this family. Kudos Gwynne Forster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where wise men fear to tread, June 6, 2002

Another great read by Gwen.
Justine was so devastated after she realized she had given permission for her child to be given away and was willing to do whatever it took to be with her child even work as a live in baby sitter but when she found that Duncan Banks had adopted her child and was the perfect father she wanted more than to be a baby sitter but his ultimate mate. Fate always has a funny way of doing things and this was no different. After realizing their passion for each other and what they were willing to endure to be with each other, they surged forward in their relationship and their love. After reading this one read Fools Rush In and read about Leah Banks, Wayne Roundtrees wife. Both romances are great.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Loved It!, April 20, 2000
This review is from: Fools Rush In (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Justine and Duncan were truly made for each other in every sense of those words. Just like to peas in a pod! I loved the story line. Like how there were two love stories in one book. Wayne and Banks are lots of laughs. I really liked Banks' character, just love to see her in action. Much love to Ms Forster from one of your fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars AN INTENSE STORY WITH BETRAYAL, PASSION & COURAGE, September 3, 1999
This review is from: Fools Rush In (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms Forster once again has done an outstanding job of writing such an intense story that seems to lure the reader into the story like being caught up in a web. As you read this story you seem to feel the betrayal that both Justine and Duncan sustain from their spouses; the pain Justine has to deal with from the decision she is forced to make for giving her daughter up for adoption and the courage she had to display for becoming the nanny for Duncan, who had adopted her daughter. The development of this story is one to read and realize how when life deals you a hand you have to play it out the best you can. Readers take the moment to read this story and find out how love was the ruling factor for secrets between Duncan and Justine.
