I am a runner and triathlete. 25 years old, running for the last 10 years. Consistenly 35 miles a week, 45-50 miles are my longest week of the year. I got one of these balls when I started getting toe cramps and general cramps on the bottom of my feet. I also have ITBS and have been using a foam roller for 2 years with minimal ITBS flare up.

This ball saved me!!! I started using it to get rid of the toe/bottom of foot cramps. I would roll it around on the bottoms of my feet for about 5-10 minutes per foot after a run. I began to notice that my incessantly tight calves were loosening up and my ITBS needed less foam roller work.

I work in a cubical and ended up bringing this ball to work so I could use it while working. I can't recommend this tool highly enough! You should be able to get it much cheaper at your local running store (less than $5).

My advice. Start out gentle for about 1-2 minutes then increase intensity focusing on knotted areas. Make sure to get the furthest inner and outer portions of the bottom of the foot (this can be difficult at first but becomes much easier over time). Try gently flexing and pointing toes to find different areas of tightness on the bottom of your foot.

Lastly. If after using this ball you feel how I do, write a review on Amazon. This has literally saved my legs.

This little massager really does the trick. I have plantar fasciitis and can hardly walk when I get out of bed. Just 5 minutes using this thing and my feet feel alot better. I just have a hard time keeping my dog from thinking its one of her toys! Ha!

I admit that I have bought several of these through the years and I end up giving them away to friends who have muscle issues more than anything that has to do with the feet. Yes, they work wonders on the bottom of the feet - it's a good hurt - the kind that can bring tears to your eyes because gets into tight areas that can take your breath away, but at the same time you know that it's doing a good thing for your tight muscles and you just don't want to stop. However, I usually have to start out slowly and work my way up to longer time with them under my feet. Mostly though, I use these to work out tense and sore areas on other parts of my body. I lie down with them on either side of my spine and work them up and down my back and they do a better job at loosening me up better than any muscular therapist could ever do. I also put them in the gluteal area and if I was having any sciatic nerve issues I don't when I get up off the floor after having laid on them for a while and letting the muscles ease up. I gave a pair to a friend who uses them to relieve tense leg muscle issues and another friend who uses them at work to loosen shoulders and pectoralis muscles from extensive time at the computer. Recommend them? Yes! They aren't just for the feet.

I got one of these 5-7 years ago and use it when my planter factitious gets bad. It is good at breaking up the sore spots in my arches. The price ($12.95) on Amazon is quite high, although I love the prime shipping. That being said, it worked best for me to order it to my local REI at pick it up for a grand total of $5.41.

These are great! I am a runner who recently recovered from a neuroma (inflamed nerve near my toes), and apparently hold a lot of tension in my feet. This does an excellent job of keeping my feet stretched out and pain-free. We now have a couple at home (they tend to wander around the house), and I also bought one to keep under my desk at work. I've tried using golf balls in the past, but it feels like I can get much deeper with these, and with less discomfort.

The balls themselves feel very solid and dense--I can't imagine them ever wearing out--and the size is perfect. All-in-all, a great little product at a very reasonable price!

They are smaller than they seem- they are golf ball sized, I thought I was buying some baseball sized balls.

I hesitate to review products so soon after getting them but my initial reaction is that this little ball is a life saver! I suffer from severe plantar fasciitis in both feet. I'm at the point where I ice my feet everyday, stretch, wear splints at night, keep walking to a minimum, and take Ibuprofen on a regular basis. Still, I'm in a lot of pain and this has been going on for three months. I'm sick of it.

At the end of my wits I decided to get this. As soon as I opened the box I played around with it and felt immediate relief. I was worried it would be too much for my feet to handle (I'm both very ticklish and can't handle any pressure anywhere on my heels because of the PF) but the sensation was really relaxing. The little nubs, for lack of a better term, are flat on the end so they don't dig in too much (I saw a review for a similar product in which people complained that the "spikes" were too much). I was able to apply more pressure, even on my heels, after lightly rolling around and getting used to the feeling for just a few moments. The ball fits perfectly under my fallen arches and is easy to control with just my feet.

Today was the first day in weeks and weeks that I haven't had to limp to the bus to and from work.

This thing is great while sitting in front of the TV, under the desk at work, first thing in the morning before standing up out of bed (the worst time of the day for PF sufferers!) and I even rolled it around between my feet and my shower wall while kicking back in a hot bubble bath. So convenient!

I was recommended this for my plantar fasciitis. The minute I opened the box and took it out, I knew this would help! It's easy to use and has multiple uses! I got two; one designated for feet. My heel was crunching as I rolled the ball under my heel; it was breaking up scar tissue. It felt wonderful (a good hurt) in the arch and on the ball of my foot as well. The nodes are not spiky but help with accupressure points. My feet felt so relaxed and comfortable in my shoes for the first time in a long time! You can use it almost anywhere you feel muscle pain. I hold it in my hands to break up knots in my husband's shoulders, neck and back; he loves it! I am also a musician, and this is wonderful on my forearms and hands! I use it everyday! Made in USA, high quality hard dense plastic with 160 flat raised nodes, 6" circumference. Great value! Happy customer!

I used this a few years ago, but lost it, and wanted a replacement. It was crucial for my slow comeback from plantar fasciitis injury. Use it before you get out of bed to help warm up your injured foot. I still occasionally use it for healthy feet to keep them in condition. The little spikes keep the ball from shooting out from under your feet, giving you more control as you roll it under your feet.
