I bought this and the Wheaton black bunion brace, as I have a painful bunion caused by a metatarsal disorder on my left foot. I've already had surgery, which only made it worse, and I wish I'd tried this product first.

I've been using it just at night and I feel the difference in the morning. I wish it could be worn all day long. It gently pulls my big toe out while putting pressure on the bunion, and I like that you can adjust the pressure over time by tightening the blue & white straps. The quality is also better than I expected. The image makes it appear to be cheap plastic with thin straps, but it's decent quality that I expect to use nightly for a year or two.

If you have a serious bone problem as I do, this probably won't completely correct the problem, but it may lessen the pain. If you're considering surgery, try this first, it may be enough to get you through the day.

I have bunions on both feet. My right is worse than my left. I have always opted for very comfortable shoes, which has probably helped minimize pain to this point in my life, but I knew it was time to seek a remedy because starting about 6 months ago they have started to bother me even when I am not wearing shoes. As for the product: I only purchased one for the right foot to test this bunion regulator out, since the reviews were mixed and I had never tried anything like it before. But, this works far better than I had hoped. I wear it only to bed (overnight) and even put on a sock over it because my feet are always cold. I can not walk in it at all (too uncomfortable), but I don't deny that some people could maybe do so. Everyone's feet are different. My perfect shoe size is a 7.5W (only wide BECAUSE of the bunions, however), so maybe that tells you something about the fit. It fits my foot perfectly and truly relieves the bunion pressure. After only 4 nights, I can honestly say that my right foot now is more comfortable during the day than my left foot. The device looks exactly as depicted. Of course it is overpriced for what it is (plastic, some foam padding and some velcro), but unless you are going to make your own, I think it is worth it.

I've used these splints for a couple of years now, and this one is very comfortable. They have helped prevent progression of my bunion and decreased some of the angle on the toe.

It did take me awhile to get used to this. At first my big toe was uncomfortable and my 2nd toe was irritated by the hard plastic. In addition, during the first week or so I experienced pain and cramping in the bottom of my foot, from the base of my big toe up into my arch--right along the outside edge of the bottom of my foot. But I was tired of sitting on the couch at night holding my big toe outward for relief and willing to give the regulator a chance.

Once all the tendons and muscles went through their adjustment period and my toes were used to the nightly pressure, the pain I was used to experiencing during the day dwindled and then disappeared. My pain was in the joint itself, not out on the bunion, and using this at night was a blessing -- since I don't need any bunion cushioning, this was the only thing I needed for relief.

After awhile without pain, I did get lazy about wearing the regulator and then lost the habit of putting in on. After a few months my pain returned and I've gone through a few days of pain/cramping in the bottom of my foot and I'm starting to notice improvement during the day. I've learned my lesson and my regulator is now a lifetime commitment.

I have suffered with bunion pain off and on for the past 22 years. My bunion pain had become severe due to my job in retail sales, being on my feet for 8-9 hours at a time for 4-5 days a week. The pain was so bad it hurt even during sleep. I saw this product and decided it was worth a try - the price is affordable so I thought "what do I have to lose?"

After the FIRST night I felt relief from the constant pain and throbbing. After only 1 week the pain was completely gone. The bunion is, of course, still there however I do not have pain as long as I use the bunion regulator every night.

My dog found the product very tasty one morning so I had to go without one for a few days while I waited for a replacement. The pain started coming back but within a day or two of use it has gone away. This product has changed my life for the better!

I bought this product some time ago and tried it if it works, I was pretty disapointed as it is very hard, pinchy plastic and for my shoe size 6.5 it actually moves and comes off while sleeping. First night I couldn't sleep at all, it was very uncomfortable, then it got little better, but still causes pain in my big toe and slides off after rolling around in bed.. I wish it worked because it does separate the big toe from others, but not very well made..
I don't want surgery either and will keep looking for some other products..

I purchased the FootSmart Bunion Regulator to try to straighten out my large toe and reduce the size/intensity of the bunion on my foot. I have used this product for one week now and it is comfortable to wear at night. I have noticed a slight straightening of my toe, but no lasting effect during the day. However, this condition took years to create, so I don't expect miracles overnight. I will continue to use this product and hope to see more results in the coming months.

I have used this product for some 3 years now, and it USED to be amazing. I have no doubt it saved me foot surgery, but I just bought a new one because eventually, the velcro does wear out. The latest model shows GREED rearing it's ugly head. For the lack of a few inches of velcro (oh, I'm sure it was cheaper by at least two cents), they have ruined the product. It now will not stay on all night unless you tug it down to totally painful tolerances (apt to awaken you). Thanks FootSmart!! you screwed it up for pennies, and I sang your praises.

I've been using the Bunion Regulator for about a month. It works as advertised. One has to get used to the feel of the thing. I have a 9-D size foot, and for a device designed to fit several foot sizes, it is reasonably comfortable, yet not a 'perfect' fit. I've found that I can sleep with it on. My bunion seems to be a bit less painful now that I wear the regulator nightly - this is good. I'd give it a five star but for its somewhat sloppy fit; and the price. This thing is made of of parts that cannot cost more than about a dollar or two. It would be better priced at $12.95. But do get one and try it; it certainly does pull one's big toe into proper alignment.

My wife uses for her both feet every night, works well for her. Also I don't have to massage her feet so often.
