Outer edge of right foot no longer aching and building callus.
I bought these because I was desperate to extend the life of my shoes and reduce some back pain due to supination.
The slant is subtle, so if you wear down the outside of your shoes, put the inserts with the "suns" facing together.

With FootSmart Posture Corrective Heel Cups, you can lessen the symptoms of the two most common conditions associated with incorrect walking: pronation (your foot rolls inward when you walk) and supination (your foot rolls to the outside when you walk). These help keep the body's alignment in sync, and ease pain in feet, ankles, knees, hips and back.

Ordered these a while back. I supinate and wear down the outside edge of my heals pretty badly. And the more my shoes wear down, the more my gait is altered - the worse I walk. These inserts do keep my feet aligned. The slant is subtle, so if you wear down the outside of your shoes, put the inserts with the "suns" facing together. If you pronate, put the "suns" facing opposite. Keep in mind, these supports are not for arch issues, plantar problems or anything like that, but if you pronate or supinate, I think they are great. I'm ordering a second pair so I don't have to keep switching. Also, I've never had any problems with FootSmart. Some of their products work better than others, but everyone's different and many healthcare products are trial and error.

I do not recommend these. I have supination, and bought the Cambion heel posts, which add about 1/4 inch. I then tried these to have a second pair. The change in height is about 1/2 an inch which was too much. It hurt my knees, and really undid the good that the other pair of heel pads had effected. If you want to try these for supination or pronation, I would recommend starting with the Cambion heel posts. It is a less drastic change, and your body can get used to the change gradually. If it works, then you could move on to these which have the greater height.

This concept of addding height to the outside of your heel to counteract supination is great. It gave me mobility without pain for the first time in years. However, the change with the footsmart heel cups was too great and caused more pain.

However, if the 1/2 inch height is not too much for you, the heel cups themselves were high quality and comfortable. Check out the Cambion heel posts, and do what you think will work best for your situation.

I've only worn these for a few weeks, but so far so good. Like other reviewers here, I'm a supinator, which means I'm always wearing down the outside heels of my shoes ... and as the heels wear down, my gait degrades, exacerbating problems with my piriformis & ITB. I just spent a lot of money on a new pair of Propet walking boots, and so I bought these heel cups not just to reduce my pain, but (hopefully!) to extend the wear on my expensive boots.

My only complaint about these is their price. Thirty bucks for a couple of pieces of molded plastic sure does seem a lot. But what do I know about plastics manufacturing, maybe there's a reason they're so expensive. Maybe it's super special Spider-man plastic that goes into the manufacturing. All I know is that the quality is very good, and they seem exceptionally durable and they stay in my boots without shifting, and in terms of performance they've delivered value for price so far. Only time will tell how they do in mitigating my pain and preventing heel wear.

I have always worn out the outside of the heels of my shoes. The Footsmart posture corrective heel cups seem to be working to help me correct my posture and keep my heel from wearing out on the outside edges

Altho there are cheaper ones in other catalogs, these are worth the cost. My husband got a second pair to use in another pair of shoes. The first heel cups were purchased a couple of years ago and they are still in great condition.

I have multiple feet issues and use custom orthotics. I decided to buy this, because it claimed to correct pronation. I was hoping that this product will work with existing orthotics (which solved other feet issues I had) to also address pronation. Also the material is soft and does not have arch support. After using this product I realized how important arch support and firm base is to reduce daily pain...
For me arch support and firm base (under a soft upper layer) would have worked better.

If pronation is the only issue with your feet, this product may work for you.

GREAT PRODUCT...after looking for something for 15 years to ease my backpain, it was just what I needed. I could tell by the wearing on the heals of my shoes that I had some kind of a problem, and this fit the bill. It's worth every penny; it saved me hundreds of dollars that I would have had to spend at the chiropractor over the next 20 or 30 years.

These raise the heel about 1/2" (I use them in the pronation position), and as a result there is no ability of the foot to take advantage of an existing, or supplemental arch support. Adding one jacks the foot into a completely unnatural position. I'm better off without it.

So, in fact, they are worse than using nothing. I have a requirement to use shoes that put no pressure at all on the Achilles tendon (think barefoot runner) and need to supply all of the support my foot gets through orthotics. I've been using a cheap-o Dr. Scholls from Walmart and I suppose that is what I'll continue to use.

These go back. Should have known better, but pain can force you to overlook warning signs...
