5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite season
Footballers Wives is in my opinion a cult classic. Season 1 was incredible but season 2 which has just finished airing on BBC America is without a doubt the best season so far. i am counting down the days until December the 6th when i can have this in my DVD collection. You must have this in your DVD Ccollection. (as well as the first season of course)

2.0 out of 5 stars It seems only trash likes trash.
This is such a repulsive show, I do not know why it gets so many four and five star reviews, I can only conclude that Amazon customers are morally bankrupt.

4.0 out of 5 stars This show will stop at nothing, June 13, 2006
I thought the first season was nearly too much, and this season is full of even more raucously funny and shameless moments. The season begins with Ian and Donna's daughter Holly still missing and their relationship on shaky ground because of it. Unable to talk to her husband and disappointed in her marriage, Donna turns to Sal for comfort. Kyle and Chardonnay have taken Jackie's baby and are deliriously happy to have fooled the press and finally be a family. Little do they know that the baby, Paddy, is going to turn out to be much more trouble than he's worth. Finally, Tanya fully intends to let people believe that Frank attacked her and her cocaine habit is worse than ever. When she and Jason decide to renew their vows, their ceremony is the highlight of the season leaving this series with a stunning cliffhanger that, as unfortunate Americans, we'll have to wait until September to have resolved.

Just when I thought they had done everything they could, I was wrong. This season takes chances that I don't think even the trashiest American television would (including Desperate Housewives and Passions). There is nothing comparable to Footballers Wives on television right now, and I guess we'll just have to wait anxiously and hope they start releasing the DVDs more quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars FOOTBALLERS' WIVES, BAD GIRLS and... dh., November 30, 2005
I'm from Glasgow but used to go back and forward between the U.S. and consequently missed these episodes and watched the programme from Series 3. I love Footballers' Wives and don't understand how anyone can equate DH, which is overdrawn, dull and a 'wannabe' in comparison.
If you like FW and can get a look at Bad Girls 6 you should, they do the cross-over and Tanya's imprisoned for a few days. I didn't give anything away, promise, her picture's on the back of the box beside a synopsis.
I'm so happy I can see this Series, even if I watched the programme back to front, starting with Series 3.

I just wonder why the Brits can buy Seasons 3 and 4 on Amazon.UK and we can't?! They are on Season 5 and we are still lagging behind!!

I'd think that in 2006 someone would figure a way for a Yank to buy a DVD from the UK and be able to watch it. This show is just too well written to hide it! We want our FBW's!!!!!!

In season two it is obvious the budget has increased dramatically. The costumes, the settings every detail has been polished to perfection. SPOILERS , In this season Tanya tries to keep her marriage to Jason from falling apart, While trying to outwit her nemesis Frank Laslett. Chardonnay and Kyle battle Jason and Jackie over baby Paddy. And we get a resolution to the Donna/Salvatore/Ian love triangle. We get plenty of shocking twists, hot bodies, over the top moments. The anchor to this ship is Zoe Lucker who dazzles as Tanya , one of the most conniving women on TV and Jason who towards the end of the season has one of the most horrible rampages i've ever seen on TV (truly Evil), all leading up to a shocking season finale. The set contains 8 episodes of soapy goodness. Bring on season 3. EP

4.0 out of 5 stars Another jaw-dropping gem from the Brits, March 14, 2006
I spent my Saturday viewing a marathon of "Footballers Wives" seasons 1 & 2 and I cannot wait for season 3. From the "Oh my God!" episode one ending to the season two cliffhanger finale, I sat enthralled with this fun, somewhat campy British import. "Dynasty", "Melrose Place" and "Desperate Housewives" have nothing on these kids, but if you like those series, you'll most likely love this one. Even the supporting characters (the nurse, the agent, the underage teammate) get their chance to shine in a soap that I pray the American networks don't try to rip-off (remember the Amercian "Coupling" disaster?).

"Masterpiece Theatre" it is not, but it's still a lot of fun and better than most network prime-time programming here in the USA.

Have to be familiar with British soccer players and their WAGS (Wives and Girlfriends who Shop). It is so gloriously and "loosely" based on the soccer players and families in Europe especially the Beckhams. Turn on the subtitles and not for anyone under 18.

5.0 out of 5 stars It keeps getting better and better, March 28, 2006
I just finished watching Season 4 that I bought from Amazon.co.uk. Luckily, my friend has a multi-regions DVD player. Otherwise, it will not play.
The show is very addictive. I finished the whole season 4 in two days. It's just awesome. Like one of the reviewers said, it's much better than desperate housewives.
The fact that it takes forever for the FBW's DVDs to come out in the US is just not right. If you've got a multi-regions DVD player at home (you can look for it on google btw), you can buy the DVDs from the UK and watch it. Otherwise, you'll have to keep on waiting (for years maybe), unfortunately.
