5.0 out of 5 stars State of the art Bluegrass., March 29, 1999

There is a section around Atlanta which has produced some of the most talented musicians in bluegrass today. Jeff Autry is perhaps the most talented of a small group of musicians that have gone on to some fame and glory, at least as much as bluegrass musicians get to enjoy. Jeff's first band was the Everett Brothers, of Suwanee Georgia, also the first band of Ray Deaton of the highly acclaimed IIIrd Tyme Out. Jeff is a guitarist of extraordinary ability. His lead lines are smooth and lightning fast and tasty, and his rhythm playing propels the music with that unmeasurable quality that bluegrass players call "Drive". He is surrounded on this project by more of the best in the business: Russell Moore, Sam Bush, Scott Vestal, Mark Schatz. Just TRY to listen to this whole album and sit still... the "Drive" in this album will propel you to move. Enough said.

I have had this Album for some time now and I can't stop listening to it. The instumentals on this CD are just incredible! Jeff Autry is one of the most amazing guitar players I have ever heard and seen! To hear him LIVE is even better...I highly recommed it! He is currently playing in the John Cowan Band. Check out ... the current tour dates. You will not be disappointed! JEFF AURTY ROCKS!

5.0 out of 5 stars State of the Art Bluegrass and Acousticana, October 29, 2004

I am the "music fan" who wrote the other similar review of this work several years ago and I thought I'd update that review.

Just TRY to listen to this whole album and sit still... the "Drive" in this album will propel you to move.

On "Leaving London" and "Please Search Your Heart" Jeff shows off lead vocal abilities that show why he has been a mainstay in one top-tier Bluegrass Band after another. It doesn't hurt to have Russell Moore singing harmony with you, either. On the many instrumental tracks Jeff joins his guests in some crispy and snappy arrangements of some killer tunes. It's no coincidence that Jeff is the guitarist on the legendary "Bluegrass" series of instrumental projects helmed by Scott Vestal. (If you're going to get one, I highly recommend "Bluegrass '96" where Jeff and company raise the art of bluegrass instrumental to a new plane.)

Enough said.
