From the Manufacturer
Footprint produces specialist and general woodworking tools for both professionals and the DIY enthusiast. The specially selected range of hardwoods are obtained from forest plantations which are managed on a sustained yield basis. Product quality is maintained due to the fact that all wood storage, wood turning, wood machining and coating is carefully monitored from start to finish. Components such as the tacklifter blades and the marking knife blade are all produced and machined at Footprint. The mitre blocks and mitre boxes are tongue and grooved. The range of bevels and squares are particularly fine examples of Footprint workmanship. The blades are made from spring steel which is chemically blued to prevent corrosion. The meticulous attention to manufacture and assembly of blades and stocks result in optimal performance. The handles of the squares are made from selected hardwoods and are attached to the blades using brass rivets. The sliding bevel has a screw locking device which assures that the blade angle is retained.
