Uganda, straddling the equator and perched on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, is marketing itself as an eco-destination. Its gorillas represent perhaps the most powerful eco-image of them all, but there is so much more to Uganda. Travellers can go gorilla or chimp tracking; climb Mount Elgon or the Rwenzoris; look deeper into Africa's past with its Kabaka traditions; visit the Seses - tropical islands in a freshwater lake; speed down the River Nile in a helter of white water; or just sit and enjoy the stunning landscapes. Never again with footprint,

Luckily we had a two year old lonely planet book about east Africa as well. The footprint is unreliable, maps are wrong, addresses are wrong, hotels non exist, ....It was a disaster to travel with Footprint Uganda Handbook!! Without the other east africa travle guide we would have been lost!
