5.0 out of 5 stars Biblical Revelation's best intelligible exposition
Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum exposes the events of the book of Revelation in the best possible way. While others come to conclusions drawn from personal experience, Zeitgeist, or current events, this book is based on bible prophecy from both the OT and the NT with focus on the last things as stated in the book of Revelation. 2.0 out of 5 stars Very Unreliable, Especially with the Old Testament
I am a pretribulationist, and I have been on the prowl to see if there is a recent release that can match up to J. Dwight Pentecost's massive and classic tome, "Things to Come." This is not it.

Dr. Fruchtenbaum has weird ideas on almost every page, far too often to be a reliable resource for the student of prophecy. Where should I begin? First of all, he...

5.0 out of 5 stars Biblical Revelation's best intelligible exposition, March 23, 2004

This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
Fruchtenbaum's cultural, educational, and spiritual background enables the reader to learn beyond closely limited horizons. The author also introduces other Bible scholar's views and profoundly illustrates on the basis of the Bible why certain contemporary ideas don't match the teaching of God's word.
Bible prophecy is explained in a soul-touching way which will leave the honest Christian reader not unchanged. It is an eye-opener for the unchanging love and character of our Creator God, enabling the reader to get a better understanding about the manifold prophecies of the OT and NT about Him and His purposes for mankind. The book draws not from current events or even from sesationalist ideas but from God's message to mankind. Don't be scared about the thickness of this book - my interest grew with each chapter I read. One could call it "meat for the mind". It proves also to be a great encouragement for the soul, resulting in a deeper love of God and higher appreciation of His word. Don't miss it.
Special thanks to the teacher, Dr. Fruchtenbaum!

5.0 out of 5 stars outstanding, August 28, 2004
This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
I have read hundreds of books on prophecy through the years. Two books have stood out as basic, logical, interesting and foundational for the student seriously interested in Biblical Prophecy. One is "Maranatha" by Renald Showers: a detailed study of the Rapture. The other is this book by Arnold Fruchtenbaum. You may find some statements almost shocking, but on close study,I believe Dr.Fruchtenbaum is correct.I only disagreed with about one per cent of the conclusions. This is a "must have" book for the serious student. My only criticism is that extensive scripture is quoted throughout the book and the verses are not numbered individually. The last one fourth of the book probably could have been ommited.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to progress from milk to meat, ..., October 7, 2003
By
"dknytoddca" (Mission Viejo, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
If you want to progress from milk to meat, you have found your author, you have found your book! Once you become a student of Dr. Fruchtenbaum's, you will realize that you're studying God's Word the way He meant for you to study, and you will draw nearer to Him. You will desire to learn more. You will read no other author, because no one can parallel the teaching skill of Dr. Fructenbaum.

Dr. Fruchtenbaum exemplifies one who is truely lead by the Holy Spirit. His life, his writings, his speaking engagements around the world and his ministry are a reflection of his dedication. He is dedicated to doing the will of our Father; to share the gospel - salvation only through His Son, the Messiah.

Dr. Fruchtenbaum faithfully uses his gifts; his mind, knowledge and his ability to teach, to glorify God. As a result of Dr. Fruchtenbaum's spirit lead faithfulness, we are blessed!

There is no other author who could take you through each word of Revelations, offering only God's Word to support symbolism and understanding, and not his/her own personal commentary. His acquired knowledge of history, biblical archaeology, Greek and Hebrew and his personal knowledge of Jewish symbolism/culture/rabbinic traditions will take you from a bible study that just "snorkels" along the surface, to a "scuba-diving adventure" where the depth and beauty of God's Word comes alive at levels you couldn't believe existed. You'll probably have to "come up for air" a few times. If you have never read any of Dr. Fruchtenbaum's works before, rest in knowing we all have had to take some breaks to "gasp a few breaths". As the layers of God's Word are peeled away and so skillfully exposed to us by Dr. Fruchtenbaum, you recognize the depth of God's Word, and His love for us. You are moved by the intertwining of His Word from book to book, across cultures and countries over 1600 years; as you read Dr. Fruchtenbaum's book, which is methodically outlined. He is able to demonstrate the consistency in God's revealed Word by offering references, not from other commentaries or current events, but from God Himself. He teaches us about the Book of Revelation by using references found in the Old and New Testament. He teaches us how we are to truely study God's Word, through a cross reference of God's Word.

Dr. Fruchtenbaum is the only author I will read as I study God's Word. He shares his knowledge on geography, archaeology, Jewish customs and traditions, and the original penned languages of Hebrew and Greek. He offers perspective into understanding the depth of God's Word, by supporting everything he writes or teaches on, with internal references found throughout the Bible.

I studied from the Footsteps 1st edition book, and have been blessed again as I studied the Book of Revelations with Footsteps, revised edition, alongside. I thank God for the gifts He has given to Dr. Fruchtenbaum, I praise and give glory to Him as I am blessed when I study His Word and am able to learn from gifted believers, such as Dr. Fruchtenbaum.

This book is a must read for every believer, and belongs in the library of every believer. It is the only book one should use for the most accurate study of the Book of Revelations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Chronological Study of End Time Events, July 13, 2006

This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
If you want to study the Biblical prophecy of end time events, as they happen in chronological order, then Footsteps is the book to read. In fact, it is the book to read anyway. Dr. Fruchtenbaum is the most authoritative author you will find. I have heard him speak on several occasions, and his thinking is coherent and compelling. He presents all the facts, discusses all opposing points of view, and presents facts to approve and disprove those points of view.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those desiring an understanding of God's big picture, January 27, 2004
By
Jeffery M. Buhrer (Holland, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
If you're wondering where this world is headed and what the future holds, this is THE book to read. With incredible depth and accuracy, Dr. Fruchtenbaum describes the symbols in Daniel and Revelation, and the events that are going to occur in the 21st century. Originally written in 1983, this book delivers a message that is relevant today. I highly recommend it to both believer and unbeliever. To the believer to fill in any gaps in their knowledge of end-time prophecy. To the unbeliever to help them understand where we are on God's calendar, and to make a decision to accept Jesus as his or her Messiah.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource!, March 22, 2006
By
Deena Finney (Marion, In USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
I am only about one-third through this book but I can tell you it is a terrific resource. I received this book as a gift and thought surely it would be very complicated and difficult to go through, but it has been just the opposite. Dr. Fruchtenbaum not only is a gifted Bible teacher but he has excelled at taking what can be a very complex subject and making it most clear and understandable. He obviously knows the value of repetition in teaching and helps get the facts firmly entrenched in the reader's mind by tactful repeating of important points. I greatly enjoy this book and can't wait to get to it on the days set aside for this study. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a thoughtful and thorough study of prophetic events.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best in laying Prophecy out sequentually, July 28, 2004
This review is from: Footsteps of the Messiah (Hardcover)
This Jewish believer fills in a much needed area of study...the sequence of prophectic events from the Time of the Gentiles that started when Babylon destroyed Jerusalem,to the Church Age from its birth at Pentecost to before the Rapture that ends the Church Age and on to the Sevetieth Week...weaving both Old and New Testament prophecy together from the revelation of the Beast through Jesus' second coming and into the Millennium. Even the Appendix has material on the Olivet Discourse and the Remnant of Israel. Though there are areas I do disagree with in his interpretation in a few places...over all the bulk of the book is worth reading and studying.
