5.0 out of 5 stars Animals Speak July 20, 2012
By G
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
For Animal Lovers is an easy read--but fun and thought-provoking. I'd never considered that a cow might have dreams. It makes sense, though, especially for one named Charlie.

I love the way cats seem to sense your feelings, and the better ones will cuddle up with comfort, like Pascal. His story is a classic!

My favorite is "Abduction at Sea," with its "otherworld" and "aliens" and mako sharks. I like the mom: "sadness spread through her body like a disease." Janet reflects a true mother's hopes and fears--and sacrifice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tales of sweet animals July 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Kim Cano's "For Animal Lovers" is a collection of three short stories that go straight to the heart of the human animal. All three stories feature animals who talk, telling a story with a very nice lesson.

The first story is "Becoming Sacred." Charlie is a cow who has dreamed of going to India for most of his life in order to become sacred. The other cows coax him to a part of the pasture where there is a great-tasting patch of grass, and encourage Charlie that someday he will make it to India.

The next story is "Pascal's Magic" in which an adopted kitty is comforted and welcomed into a new home. He loves his humans, but the day comes when Pascal is the comforter. A wonderful story that shows how humans and animals can feel for each other and comfort each other.

"Abduction at Sea" is the last story and it is a heartwarming story about a mother swordfish and what lengths she will go to to help and also to save her child. Although these are animals, the stories can relate to human relationships as well.

As an animal lover, I enjoyed these stories, but best of all, the description says that 10% of the sales of these stories will go to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to help homeless pets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart warming and creative April 15, 2012
By Kat
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A heart warming and creative stories that make you feel inspired, hopeful and touched by everyday human conditions through creative characters of animals. Strangely, I connected with each of the characters and appreciated their struggles, their strength, their desire to dream and to never give up hope. I recommend these imaginative and creative short stories to anyone, as I think it touches all walks of life with the power of love.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 Endearing Stories October 23, 2012
By Lori
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Both kids and adults characters enjoy these three tales told from the animal's point of view. Each one quickly pulls the reader in, but be aware, they're not your typical hapily ever after stories. They deal with dificult topics: death, divorse, and where our food comes from. Expect kids to have questions.

5.0 out of 5 stars From one animal lover to another September 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Why doesn't everyone that cares the slightest about the love for animals, and the rewards we get in return from them, spend more time reading books like this and less time finding ways to be mean and disrespectful. On my Facebook like page there is a Post: You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those that can do nothing for him, by James Miles. The author gets it with this book and it was a joy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Writing May 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read all three short stories and really enjoyed them all, but what I really loved is the story Becoming Sacred, the characters made you feel that they could really talk. Also so glad she is giving a portion to the ASCP.

5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING!!! May 11, 2012
By LMS
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
OUTSTANDING!!! The author has an insightful view of life. I really liked her stories because it shows that people and pets go through lots of change in their lives. Both must learn to adapt. We can try to direct our lives, but as the author points out, some surprises are inevitable to happen and it's how we cope with them and try to take control of the situation that matters. LMS
