4.0 out of 5 stars Turn of WHICH Century Blues?, April 9, 2010
By
I'm pretty sure that Samuel James has been taken over by the soul of an early 1900's bluesman. Wow! I'll be buying his other albums quickly that's for sure. If you like Eric Bibb, John Hammond, Keb' Mo', I think you'll like this album. However, while this definately fits the "accoustic blues" genre... It seems that Samuel's influences are a bit "older" than most. As opposed to a blues song with a story over it, you've got stories with a blues backing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Samuel James, the bluesman with two first names, July 28, 2010

A wordsmith that sets his tales to very accomplished guitar and banjo, Mr James has here a polished group of songs about interesting people in interesting situations. I like this because it's a solo effort with depth, just one man's rendering of the human condition, set to music.

Buy it! If you're into acoustic blues, you'll like Samuel. He plays the snot out of his guitar and his songs are fun and interesting.
