I can take Fireflight to the gym and pound out a great workout.
Sheridan L. Stanton
Her talent is consistent throughout the album, and it blends well with the band's style of rock.
GOFISHFISHER
This is the second CD that I have bought of theirs and both (Unbreakable) of them are great.

This has been one of the most anticipated albums for me for the year so far...great album..still like 'Unbreakable' better though...I couldn't give it a full 5 stars...here's why..

1.For those who wait (5/5).Great opener! Best song on the album...If you're a fan of symphonic rock you'd like this..definitely will be a single...'The pressure makes us stronger, the struggle makes us hunger, the hard lessons make the difference and the difference makes it worth it' Another one of those powerful msgs that the band usually gives..

2.Desperate (4/5) When I first heard this as the band's first single I was like hmmmm...it's ok and was in doubt how the album was gonna turn out, but I think everyone can relate to the lyrics

3.Fire in my eyes (3.5/5). Pretty heavy song. Another ok song...it's growin' on me though..

4.Core of my addiction (3/5)There's always 'filler' songs on most albums and I think this is the one for this album...It's alright but I think it's forgetable...

5.What I've Overcome (5/5) Love this one! Very catchy chorus...it sticks in your head. You just want to belt this one out..

6.Name (5/5) The acoustic song in the album. Opens up with the piano then the strings come in... It brought me to tears and I can't remember when a song has actually done that...just a beautiful song lyrics and music wise...

7.New Perspective (3/5) The other filler...like core of my addiction it's not strong enough to stand out..

8.You Give Me That Feeling (4/5)Another heavy one...U either headbang or at least nod your head to this one

9.All I Need to Be (5/5) The chorus is done differently each time...I swear. 1st time round...it's all acoustic and harmonizing...2nd time...the electric guitar comes in strong....

Not a bad song on the disc. They rock you hard with songs like "Desperate" and then surprise you with a beautiful ballad about God's love on "Name". They've never sounded better. The digital booklet is pretty cool too; all the liner notes from the CD. Buy This!

If youre talking about a ROCK singer that motivates me, or rather, says what I would say, I would have to pick PINK. Imagine my surprise when I found a ROCK band that ROCKED FOR GOD!!! They say exactly what I would say. I can take Fireflight to the gym and pound out a great workout. It lightens my spirit, it gets me revved up, and most of all, it still praises GOD!!! Ordering through Amazon is also a BLESSING FroM GOD. One click and this baby was in my mailbox within three days...no stress, no worry. Who could ask for anything more!!

There is certainly a shortage of female-fronted rock bands: those that exist usually do so to appeal to a 13-18 female demographic and not much else. That is a shame, because bands like Flyleaf and Evanescense prove that there can be a universally appealing edge to rock music when a good set of high-pitched pipes cuts out in front of the mix. For the Christian audience, add Fireflight to that list.

I refuse to promote this band as anything new or original. This is the kind of radio-ready hard rock you've heard a hundred times before; it relies heavily upon its frontwoman's vocal and lyrical hooks. However, it's certainly a step forward from the somewhat forgettable album "Unbreakable," which, while well-made, channeled cliche after Christian cliche through almost every song's lyrics. As with all bands attempting to pour out a straightforward Christian perspective into a singable melody, Fireflight cannot seem to entirely escape the occasional cliche (lines such as "you've got me desperate" and "I'm addicted to you" are indeed tired). Such lyrical hiccups are the exception rather than the rule, and the melodic and lyrical hooks on songs such as "For Those Who Wait" and "What I've Overcome" will stick in your head - just like all radio-friendly rock anthems should do.

Musically, Fireflight delivers the kind of catchy, headbanging riffs that every rock lover wants to hear, but not much else. The listener will not be hearing soaring guitar solos or interesting musical twists during the heavier portions of the album. That said, the album slows down on "Name" and "Recovery Begins," to which I have to critique the former for it's me-too orchestral sound and praise the latter for the hauntingly simple melody and thick, layered accompaniment.

After Unbreakable, I had been anxiously awaiting the bands next release and I have to say, it has not disappointed.

There is definite growth in this CD. For the first couple of plays, I could have sworn this was a different band altogether. First and foremost, I didn't recognize Dawn Michele vocals! Something seems to have changed there and to me, it's for the better. The sound and lyrics are much deeper to me this go around as well.

I love all the songs with For Those Who Wait leading the pack. Great mix of symphonic and rock all in one song. Desperate is a close second followed by Name. Name is that type of song that will straight up grab your soul, shake it, and force you to realize you are a real person to God! No matter what you've done, no matter what you're going through, God knows your Name and he loves you!

This is a must have CD for Fireflight fans. Although I have to say, I picked it up on iTunes on release day for $6.99. Go get it now!
