THE PARANORMAL SERIAL BEGINS!

From the writers of the groundbreaking post-apocalyptic serial “Yesterday’s Gone,” comes a dark new fantasy horror serial, “ForNevermore.”

All 17 year old Noella Snow ever wanted was a normal life.

But normal died with her mother, minutes after she was born. Then again when her father was murdered before her eyes on her seventh birthday. Now she spends her days in quiet misery, an outcast at school, harboring a secret crush on her best friend, Sam.

Noella’s only happiness lies in her dreams, in a world where her father still lives and Dante, a mysterious stranger with a deadly touch, guards over her.

Now those dreams have turned to nightmares as Noella begins hearing voices, witnessing murders she can’t possibly know of, and seeing the monsters from her sleep merging into her waking life.

Noella doesn’t want to return to King’s Point, the psychiatric hospital where she was forced to go after an “episode” two years earlier.

She tells herself she’s better.

But then one night Noella sees the impossible... Dante, watching her from afar, as he has for centuries – nearly as long as he's loved her.

Is Noella losing her mind? Or is she linked to a hidden world, destined to be normal ForNevermore?

ForNevermore is a bold new paranormal serial, with awesome cliffhanger endings that will make you feel like you’re watching your favorite TV show right on your Kindle.

NOTE: Contains mild language and violence (probably a lot less than what you’d find in a PG-13 movie.) Appropriate for Young Adult Readers

This episode is approx. 17,400 words

5.0 out of 5 stars Not any YA that I've Known March 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am anything but a YA. Can't hardly remember back that far as a matter of fact.
But, ForNevermore was written by those expert writers, Wright and Platt. So I thought I might as well give it a look. I have to admit that I didn't think I would be able to relate to it. But life for this young girl was not easy. In some ways it reminded me of some of things that I had gone through at her age. So, I read on. The story quickly picks up with unbelievable WTH action. I can't tell you anymore details. Just believe me when I say I was hooked again. Young or not, this one is another winner for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars They've Done It Again! March 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I thought that Yesterday's Gone was addicting, but these guys have done it again with ForNeverMore. I can't wait for the next episode. I do think that THIS series is better suited to a younger audience than Yesterday's Gone, due to less adult content. They'll get hooked just as quickly as I did. I wasn't sure at first that I'd like a story-line that was more geared towards the younger crowd, but I fell in love almost instantly with it. Good plot, great characters that you can get close to and of course they're ever popular "cliff-hanger" type endings...although the "end" of each episode is NOT the real end. More to come and I can't wait. Love it! Good job guys!

SPOILERS

Noella Snow is a 17 year old teenage girl with not unusual teenage problems... on the very periphery of school popularity, struggling to fit in. But none of her classmates have to endure nightmares that are sending her to the brink of insanity. But even worse than that, these nightmares have started to cross over into reality. Her only help comes from a friend by the name of Dante who appears only in her dreams... until now.

END SPOILERS

Some thoughts...Pros and Cons

1.) when I found out this was designated Young Adult (YA) I cringed. Of all of the writing genre, YA is the one I like least. Why? Let me explain...
While there are some very good YA books out there, I've found many of the YA horror/fantasy/ novels I've read, employ iffy techniques such as sappy tween romances, inane dialogues, and when the going gets really rough at the ending they resort to incredulous rescues against staggering odds or invoke superhero figures to save the day.
However, to classify this as traditional YA would lead you astray. This is adult horror that just happens to use a 17 year old girl as its main protagonist. For that reason alone, call this YA if you will... but this is the real deal.

2.a) well written and thought out. The prose has a nice flow to it making it easy to read. Polished!
2.b) a nice balance between action and drama. Lots of things happening but enough time is devoted to character development as well. Hard to have a memorable story without good/great characters.

3.) I liked the slow release of information that gives us some background on Noella's younger childhood. A mix of unpleasantries that bring some of her personality into sharper focus, giving the reader a bit of understand into what she's going through.

4.) some graphically descriptive scenes that are in keeping with her nightmare terrors. One can only guess what's to come.

5.) believability withing the context of the story. Nothing worse than some zinger dropped unexpected out of the blue that just doesn't 'fit' the circumstances.

6.) cover art... Updated on March 5th. A crumpled red heart (off center) on a black background... brilliantly simple yet so intriguing!

7.) and finally, I really like this format. Short installments spaced close together (weekly). A perfect mix!

Conclusion:
A terrific beginning of a new series by Sean Platt and Dave Wright.

As it is... 5 Stars.

This is a great supernatural thriller with the mystery of a detective novel. It is "scary" good. There are plenty of anxiety-inducing moments.
